As I mentioned in my first post, I've had my eye on Warner Lakes for a few years now. In fact I remember googling land around the cashmere / warner area many years ago and finding some sketchy information on a new estate soon to begin called Warner Lakes. I bookmarked it all those years ago and used to frequently go back to the page and dream over the master plan. One night while driving in the area, I noticed new roads built into what used to be a potato farm. At the time I didn't even realise it, but this was the start of the Warner Lakes estate. Earlier this year with the excitement of some close friends building up at North Lakes, I decided to go look at some display homes in Warner Lakes. I drove in, loved the area, and it all began from there! If you would like to follow my full story as it happens, best to follow my blog http://campoutforland.blogspot.com/ But a long story short, land at Warner Lakes was quite popular just a few months ago when I decided to take the plunge and enter the market. So popular that I had to camp out for two nights straight on the porch of the sales office just to reserve my block! Yep! That's the camp. 46 hours living on that deck - and I secured my very own piece of dirt. Talk about epic! By the second day there were 12 of us huddled on the deck, waiting for the sales office to open and release the 22 blocks of land on offer at that time. (That's not me in the photo, btw). After a marathon camp-out, I was third to enter the sales office and write my name on the block I wanted. It was done! My block of land is located in "The Landing - Stage 4". A lovely area and just a stroll to the lake! Building at Warner Lakes in sunny Queensland. Building with Bold Properties. First up, a satellite view for you! 465m of pure dirt. Gotta love it! And that's a lake to the lower right of the picture. Doesn't look that crash hot from the sky, but on the ground it's wonderful! That lake I was talking about? Well it's shrouded in parklands, walkways, BBQ & play areas. Absolutely glorious! And just up the road (Away from the lake) is another small park, complete with picnic table! Back to my block - My lot is 15m wide across the font and back, and 31m deep. There's a drop down to the neighbours at the rear, so there might even be a chance of a peek at the lake! (Assuming everyone in the street below doesn't decide to go double storey!!). Street lights are now in, as is power, and the retaining walls are almost complete! We're just a few weeks away from title issue Woo! Building at Warner Lakes in sunny Queensland. Or message me and I'll give you the direct email contact of the wonderful sales lady After falling in love with their plans, I decided to build with Bold Properties! They have been absolutely wonderful so far and are extremely warm and helpful. A far cry from other pushier sales people. Bold's designs are economical, practical and charming! Everything has been thought out and there is very little wasted space. They are also completely up front with every cost and quote on a *real* turn-key price for each of their plans. After initially gravitating towards their 'Aurora' design, I ended up choosing the slightly smaller 'Perry 205' after seeing one in real life! A simple, yet beautiful design which fits my needs and block perfectly. Here's the 3D Render as found on their site (No, my house won't look like that - refer to my own colour selections later!). And the floor plan! All so very practical and checked every box on my list! I wanted a house with a bedroom away from the street, and also away from the other bedrooms. I wanted a free, open living area and easy access to the rear patio. I made a few changes and modifications, as well as a few upgrades and here's the final working plans! I wanted my house to have a light, breezy feel, yet still have a bit of flair I worked on some mock-ups and envisage renders of what I wanted in the house, then very wisely requested the assistance of a family friend (female) for the kitchen and ensuite colours. Being male, I decided having some feminine input would be a good thing - especially considering I was stuck for ideas with the kitchen and ensuite Here's a few pics of the final selections (see the full details below). Tile on the right is 'Gloss Sandstone' - to be used through all main living areas, kitchen, and floors of bathrooms etc. Center tile is 'Matt Chocolate' and one of the feature tiles for the bathrooms. The tile on the left is to be used on the walls in the Ensuite And for the external, here's a mock-up using the colours chosen (No, this isn't my house design, but it looks similar and gives a general indication of colour) External: Roof: Bristile Flat Shake tile - 'Classic Birch' Brick: Austral Plantation Range - 'Kumbia' Facia: Colorbond - 'Bushland' Gutter: Colorbond - 'Bushland' Garage: Colorbond - 'Evening Haze' Windows: Power Coated - 'Architectural White' Insect Screens: White surrounds. Front Door: 'Loft' Downpipes: Solver - 'Parchment'. Interior: Tiles: (as pictured on right) 'Gloss Sandstone'. Paint: Dulux - 'White Watsonia' Carpet: Kings Square 'Coffee 110'. Robes: 'Glacier'. Robe Frames: 'Architectural White'. Kitchen: Benchtop: Laminex 'Lunar Stone' Diamond Gloss Cupboards: Laminex 'Nocturne Oak' natural finish Splashback: 100x400 'Matt Sand' Tiles. Bathrooms: Benchtop: Laminex 'Nocturne Oak' natural finish. Sides: Laminex 'Nocturne Oak' natural finish. Floor: 'Gloss Sandstone' Bath Surround: 'Matt Chocolate'. Woo!! Things are really moving now! Still waiting for the results of the tests, but it seems someone must have snuck out to the block already to take samples!
