GO!!!!!!!!!!! 947Jul 10, 2008 12:53 am Hey guys, well i've spent 13 hours at the house today, from 8.30 am to 9.30pm when i locked the door behind us. I can't remember when i've been this tired!!! ![]() ![]() Anyway, the Spotted Gum timber floor is half done. The colour looks different under different lights. The downlights and the camera flash have changed the colour in some of these pics....But i'm definitely in LOVE with the Spotted Gum. Just like my Nova Aurora benchtops, i'm so glad i selected them. Anyway, more blinds installed today, more boxes unpacked and some rooms are beginning to take shape...with my little touches! Some more piccies before i go to bed....have an early start tomorrow, 7.30am when the tradies turn up to install the appliances. Telstra comes tomorrow too which will be good, then i can apply for internet!!! Two of Henley's Maintenance guys turned up today and rectified the minor issues....Great effort guys! Just the garage door and insulation now to rectify and we're done! Hopefully that will be done soon. Poor Master 4yo. It's a bit boring for the littlies isn't it? Shame you couldn't leave him with someone for the day. Re: READY.....SET..... GO!!!!!!!!!!! 949Jul 10, 2008 11:18 am WOW! GO!!!!!!!!!!! 953Jul 11, 2008 12:49 am Thanks so much everyone!!!
Today certainly has been a stressful day at the house. 7.30am start for the appliances to arrive, so i was up early with kids to be there on time. The plumbers decided to turn up after 11.00 so i was not happy having only slept a few hours....(hard to sleep - i couldn't switch off the brain last night, so only slept about 4hrs.....). I was that tired, i grabbed a spare doona and a pillow, wrapt ourselves up in front of the electric heater and slept for a few hours on the concrete floor whilst the timber installers did their thing,(yes we slept through all the noise of the saw and hammering!) We couldn't keep our eyes open and it has been extremely tiring for Matthew, our 4yo. So we both had a nap for a few hours... Anyway, the oven's in, and the HWS is in, BUT...... HOUSTON WE HAVE A PROBLEM!!!!!! Our water is not draining correctly. The plumbers filled the spa to test it and when they drained it, it started to flood the toilets and i could hear bubbling in the sinks and basins around the house too!!!! OH NO!!!! ![]() ![]() So the plumbers left without letting me know who and when someone is going to come back and fix it??? And left the big monstosity of a box and pallet from the oven for us to dispose of...I don't think so, our bin was removed weeks ago so they're going to have to come back and get it themselves! I'm still waiting for a response from someone, we can't even flush the toilet twice as it gets dangerously close to the top! ![]() ![]() ![]() Not happy at all!!!! We officially move in and will be sleeping there tomorrow so this better get fixed really quickly!!! Nothing has overflowed thank goodness, but its not a nice start to a new home is it? Anyway, after 14.5 hours at the house today, i'm pooped again. Off to bed then back first thing in the morning for the 3rd day of timber installation and the carpet laying. Expecting a phone call early from Henley with a timeframe for a solution to our urgent drainage issue. OH and the damn Telstra technican failed to show up today although we were booked in for 8am - 12pm???? So my blood was really boiling today!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() I probably wont update for a few days as we'll be in the house, but i will get back to you all soon and let you know how it all went....... YES...with photos too!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Take care all!!! ![]() Re: READY.....SET..... GO!!!!!!!!!!! 954Jul 11, 2008 8:19 am Oh you poor thing. A plumbing issue is the last thing you need when moving in to a house you have waited sooooo long for. I hope they sort it out quickly for you.
Your timber floor looks great, I can't wait to see what carpet you chose. Isn't it amazing what little sleep us Mums can live with?!! GO!!!!!!!!!!! 957Jul 11, 2008 10:09 am oh no!!!! Gee, I really hope that H3nl3y gets onto that today. That is the last thing you need right now. Hope it all goes/went smoothly and that you get some much need sleep! Re: READY.....SET.....
