Monday would have been great too, but ce la vie? ![]() ![]() Will definitely take plenty of pics for everyone, but unfortunately you might have to wait a week or so for me to get internet access to upload them? Gee the phone wiring still haunted you until the very end...At least it’s all connected now though. Re: READY.....SET..... GO!!!!!!!!!!! 909Jul 07, 2008 1:20 am Well since Friday, i've downloaded some pics for you guys (sorry their small, they're off the mobile).
Here's some of the Telstra contractors digging our trench. They dug from the lead in cable which was locate in the middle of the driveway diagonally across the front of the house to the meter box on the other side of the house, so about 25m's?: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ And the result! Our very own madison box!!!: ![]() Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Anyway, we went down to the house again this afternoon. We noticed that the mirror in the ensuite was taken down and replaced with another one over the weekend. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Some of the laminex end pieces of the upper kitchen cupboards beside the rangehood, had been taken down and replaced. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The side panels of the ensuite and bathroom cabinets were still off today too.... Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ We've had an issue with the top laminate strip on the side shadowline area of the cabinets. This is what it looked like before: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Hopefully they are replacing the side panels of the 2 cabinets (bathroom & ensuite), they have to be back on tomorrow, and ready for handover on Tuesday. The only thing that will be outstanding out of ALL the items i have been told, is the single panel of the garage door that requires replacing, because they installed a handle incorrectly. Anyway, the reason for heading down to the house this afternoon was to paint/seal the garage concrete floor. We swept and i vacuumed it, looking like a complete nob! ![]() ![]() Who in their right mind vac's their garage!!! lol...but i needed to make sure there was minimal dust before we painted. Here are some pics: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ We ran out of paint, 3/4 of the way through the job, so i had to run off the Bunnings to get another 4lt tin. It really soaked it up!!! When i came back we needed to use the car headlights as the light had just about gone! Then we can start to move stuff in during the week!!! If we didn't seal the floor in there, we would never get around to doing it, so it's best to do it now....lol...that's me, always pre-planning! ![]() ![]() They still need to come back tomorrow and do ANOTHER clean of the house, as its still not presentable...and there is still some broken bricks etc. that are still on site that requires removal. Nearly there! ![]() ![]() Re: READY.....SET..... GO!!!!!!!!!!! 910Jul 07, 2008 8:58 am Hi Phoenix,
Wow, your almost in your beautiful home. I think you were just starting when I joined the forum so I have been reading about your build from start to finish. I cant wait to see how you furnish and landscape your house. BTW....I thought driveways etc were all part of the package for most homes but it appears to be not the case with most builders? When our last home was built (volume builder) driveway and landscaping was included in the package, maybe they dont do this any more? Anyway, you and your family deserve all the happiness I'm sure this house will bring you. Mrs B ![]() Re: READY.....SET..... GO!!!!!!!!!!! 911Jul 07, 2008 9:15 am Congratulations Phoenix.

The garage looks great painted. We will definately be doing this too and hopefully before we move in. Whenever century that may be!!! The colour you have used is very much with our colours could I ask what it is?? Look forward to seeing more pics soon. Take Care bubaloo ![]() Building with Porter Davis since October 2007 - what a nightmare!!! Re: READY.....SET..... GO!!!!!!!!!!! 913Jul 07, 2008 10:11 am I'll second that - great colour for the garage. I hadn't even considered doing this, but seeing how well it has come up I might have to cajole one of the contractors from work to give me some mates rates ![]() I'm so excited for you P - only one more sleep ![]() Hope everything goes well with the inspection ![]() Dana -------------------------- Building with DFH - carpet installed! Re: READY.....SET..... GO!!!!!!!!!!! 914Jul 07, 2008 10:21 am Thanks so much guys!!!!
We've had a couple of enquiries about the paint already, its made by White Knight. We chose the Medium Grey colour, it comes pre-tinted and we bought 2 x 4lt's and the first coat used about 5lt's. Heres the link: http://www.whiteknightpaints.com.au/product/view/paving-paint I'm sure there are others out there, so i suppose just make sure its suited to garage floors? Mrs B, unless they are house & land packages, Henley do not do the driveways and landscaping....so we miss out there....BUT, the up- side to that is that we can get exactly what we want...and not have to compromise. (Hopefully) Kevin is at the house from 9am today with our C/M conducting his 2nd Handover Inspection. I've asked Kev to call me when he's on-site but finished his side of the inspection, so that he can check out my niggling issues around the house. Hoping to have some good news from Kevin soon...... ![]() ![]() Re: READY.....SET..... GO!!!!!!!!!!! 916Jul 07, 2008 10:37 am I agree - the garage floor looks great, we have the standard concrete in ours now and it gets so dirty, I'll definatley be doing this - well done! ![]() Try and get some rest tonight ![]() My karma ran over your dogma Re: READY.....SET.....
