Wow, it's all very hectic isn't it. We are renting & I can imagine our builders saying..."yep, handover will definately be on the 27th". We'll give our landlord notice & then the builders won't come through. What'll happen then ?

Great news though Phoenix... you'll be in your new place very soon indeed !

We have to move into ours without heating, as the external aircon unit cannot be installed until the landscaping is complete. Oh well, our rental has no heating either, so we are used to looking blue & shivvering !!

You know what....its funny.... but the short deadline on the house doesn't stress me out at all... I thrive on this! I love planning and organising stuff so this stress is actually sort of fun for me....actually, today i was told i need to go for an op, and that is stressing me out more to be honest, not the op itself, but the recovery period of 3 months min. is stressing me out because i wont be able to help around the house...wierd hey??? I want to help in the garden and lay pavers etc etc etc...i love getting my hands dirty and knowing that i can't do that is stressing me out more than anything else!!!! Ok you can all call me wierd if you want ??? LOL :roll:

Hope all's OK...nothing too serious. That's the last thing you need.

I know what you mean about not being able to do stuff after surgery, it can drive you batty...but make sure your DH looks after you.

Hopefully the house will look after itself....Looks great by the way...soooo jealous......we are so far off even starting :evil:

Do you mean by the timber fit is that a deck etc ????

The sad thing is i'll be without adsl for a bit, worst case, i might have to settle for dial up with Telstra....how sad!!! :cry:

P, when I was on dial up it was no different from adsl...makes me wonder if we actually were??

Anyway, hope all goes wel with the op, make sure you are on some sort of internet as it may be your life line during recovery.

As mike said, as long as you can pass the beer around!!

I feel like I know you so well that I want to offer help and assistance, you know, do the vaccuuming or something?? but I havent even met you!!

The installation of the appliances, is another issue too, as Henley's policy is to have delivery and commissioning of the appliances 4 days after handover. We have requested that the appliances be installed and commissioned on the 9th or 10th preferably. So just a bit of pre-planning on their part required....it better happen!!!

Thats weird...what are you suposed to do for 4 days in your home without appliances...?????

Ok, a bit of an update.....

We received our call from the Handover supervisor "L" today. The final inspection is booked for Wednesday the 9th of July at 9am with settlement thereafter. Kevin will do another inspection either Tuesday afternoon or Wednesday morning with us to give us the go ahead and cover anything that requires further rectification.

"L" is working towards handover on Monday the 9th of July, but will still not commit until the end of this week. They have had tradies there everyday, which is great, but still its all a big rush at the end and we've already knocked back some of the work that they have done and said re-do it!!! I wont settle for any 1/2 done jobs!!! :evil:

"L" has been fine with my comments so far and is doing his best to keep me happy.

Time will tell. Worst case scenario- it will be Wed the 9th of July.

Ok well, the schedule is as follows (i warn you, take a deep breath now- cause its hectic!!!):

Friday 4/7
- Telstra trench and madison box being installed (yeah - after all the issues we've had!!!)

Break for the weekend, but their tradies will still be on-site working........

Wed 9/7 (if not earlier)
- 9am - Final Inspection
-10am - Settlement appt in the sales office-will book that tomorrow
-12pm - Timber installer commences
- Start installing the timber blinds

Thurs 10/7
- Timber install continues/concluded today
- 7.30am-4.30pm Appliances installed
- 8am-12pm Telstra fit off
- Finish installing the timber blinds

Friday 11/7
- Carpet install
- 12pm-4pm Ducted heating unit commissioned
- Official moving process commences midday when we pick up the truck!!! (yeah!!)
- Hopefully not still installing the timber blinds :roll:

Ian will move in from the Thursday....
The rest of the family will move in on Friday night (well the beds and clothes will)
The balance will be moved in over the weekend.
Will move our one little doggie, Tiga, in on Monday so that he is not under our feet in the move....

I have found an ISP (Exetel) for our ADSL/VOIP service as ADSL2 is not available to us at this time. :evil:

And that hopefully will be connected in a week or so (all going well?)

Working out the driveway timings is more painful....up to a 10 week wait for that, so hopefully we'll work something out soon enough....

Its all happening, a bit hectic so havent been on the forum much....
I enjoy this bit, i love the planning side of it. Just need to call up the Gas, electicity and Water providers and open the accounts and it's all done....i think????

Thanks VJ, hmmm most of the mail is currently redirected to the parents houses. Will definitely change those and the car insurances when we move in. The house is already insured and our contents are already insured, but we will have to change the addresses. Thanks for the suggestion.

Bring it on!!!! I'm so ready for this!!!! I've been ready for a year!!!! :roll:
