What if you want to leave the window open if it rains? I also don't personally like the look, do people request to have them removed? Jet Hi Jet, it depends on the standard design of the house. We seem to be havig difficulty in getting acceptable answers to our requests at the moment. We know that site start is this Friday. We asked about getting the electronic electricity meters - the response was - don't know - we only use the M3 (std) models. No explanation, no option to change it to the newer model was offered. Secondly we asked if we could change the light switches to the more flush style that is now available. Too late!!!! The job has been through ordering so can't change it now. I'm sorry but i thought that is what Variations were for????? Thirdly we have had to change the location of a downpipe on the front facade of the house. H3nley have changed it twice now, and are not willing to look at another placement option, that we have suggested. Are we asking too much that our requests get the response we deserve. If we want to pay for different light switches.... why is it too late - they haven't started the slab for God's sake!!!!! So it is not as if the switches have already been installed. Anyway, once again, we find that our requests are put into the "TOO HARD" basket. Not a nice start is it???? Not Happy Jan!!!!! Re: READY.....SET..... Did they issue you a variation for the downpipe changes (or have to notify you?), because this would obviously change on the plans/drawings you would have signed off on. Look we would just like common sense answers to our requests. How hard can it be to change light switches???? We are not asking for the earth....It is our house... Have not seen a variation for the downpipe yet, but yes the drawings have to be changed again - i would assume. They had to add a external pwer pt for the spa as a variation too, so no problems when they have to make a change is it????? The new drawings/variation docs are available today so we'll see what they look like when we get them. Will talk to them again and see how it goes. Re: READY.....SET..... This morning hubby recieves a phone call asking if someone has already spoken to us - uh oh ....(sounds like bad news)..... it seems H3nley are unable to commence work on our site as their concreters go on holidays on the 14th of December . So no work until the middle of January 2008! Yeah, so i heard you say, site start was advised to be on the 7th of December. So WHAT THE????? You would seriously think that the fact that we have been given a site start date from H3nley would mean that this in fact would be an informed decision based on the fact that they would have factored in all of the material, logistical and labour required to ACTUALLY COMMENCE THE JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Is it too much to ask that we have a builder iwth some level of competancy???? Maybe so. So of course, me not taking that crap, ring our CSR to "chat" and resolve the issue. "Thought i'd be recieving a call from you today" was the comment i recieved - why is that i wonder? - Because they know that i will not take any crap - i haven't from day one!!!!!! So the situation now stands that i am waiting for a phone call from the Construction Manager to resolve this today. I WANTsite start as advised and i WANT my slab down before Christmas. For God's sake we signed the contract on the 12th of October and have been waiting on Henley to pick up the ball and kick it ever since..... I am happy to be patient when the result is forthcoming and justified, but this seems to me to be once again thrown in the TOO HARD basket!!!! My blood is boiling - somewhat like the temperature in Melbourne today. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Pretty stressed for someone that is only at the very beginning of the process. You are going to be exhausted by the time you are finished. Only way that I see for them to get your slab down is to deny another ahead in the queue. Not very nice IMO. Perhaps everyone should do it?
