But no, Ian is no longer on the roof of neighbours houses and hasn't been for weeks now.... he stands on the back fence and takes the "aerial" pics that you see on here.

Hi VJ, yes i thought you were a bit quiet the past few days!!! :wink:

FYI, the Engineers report took about a week to recieve.

We're about at the same stage, but you need to remember that a 2 storey will always take longer than a single....
It wont be long, once they fix the slab, it will be go, go , go!!!!!!!!!

We hope that it's all smooth sailing from now, but you know how it goes??? :roll:

We'll wait and see.... :wink:

ANYWAY, the Engineers report is with Kevin and this morning noticed the brickies have commenced and had about 5 courses of brickwork laid already around the master bedroom at the front...
There were more bricks delivered early this morning, to keep our lovely brickies busy for a bit.....don't want them getting bored now do we???

The tilers are busy on the roof too...
It's another hot day in Melbourne today but rain and milder weather forcast for the rest of the week, so we'll see how much gets done... :wink:

Tomorrow we should have the upper story roof trusses completed and then it is windows I guess.

Thanks Dy, we're actually really happy with our material selections...

They are moving quite quickly again. Each day brings us closer to recieving our new house....We are definitely not complaining now!!! :wink:

Todays update:

Our roof is complete, well they have to remove the safety barriers and insert the tiles that fit into those spots. But the capping has been cemented in place so it's just as good as done now. There has been very little wastage of roof tiles too. What you see left on the roof is IT...and very few wasted tiles around the site too. That's not bad, IMO

The brickies....(God bless their exceptional work)... have recommenced today, all 3 of them.

The quality of the brickwork is THAT GOOD, that you wouldn't really require the bricks to be acid washed....seriously, they are that clean!!!! Very happy with the raked mortar too, we selected this as we wanted the bricks to be the feature, not the mortar.

Very straight brickwork too....VERY, VERY NICE WORK GUYS!!!!!

Can you tell we're Very Happy Chappies today!!!!

Oh and in regards to the slab issues, Kevin is coming out on Thursday armed with H3nley's Engineer's report to have a look for himself....
Just gotta love Kevin!!!! :wink:

I drove past this morning and the brickies ARE on-site, and they had already bricked up to the same height as the front bedroom, but down the side of the house up to the laundry door. They are doing a great job...i suppose as long as it's not bucketing down, they can keep working...better than a 34 degree day in the burning hot sun too. :wink:

Well the sunshine is back in Melbourne and so returned our brickies to our house!!!

They have just about finished the front of the house and commenced work on the LHS. Nearly 1/2 the house is bricked already....

Kevin came out to the house today and had some concerns about the overhanging framework in some sections, but he is working with our S/S - "D" to resolve them. H3nley have been very positive about these issues and we hope to have everything resolved soon.

We received our frame invoice yesterday and they haven't even fixed the slab issue! :evil:

VJ, believe me - i'm not complaining about the timing of the invoices!!! :wink:

I suppose it depends on the respective builders' accounts department when they have to send out the invoices and the due dates for payment etc.

Our slab issue is in the process of being fixed....I have no real issues with paying the frame invoice within the specified timeframe, as i know that Kevin is dealing with our S/S on the issue and if Kev says it's ok, then i'm happy with his opinion.

Get Kevin out VJ, if he hasn't been already!!!
IMO if we had left it just for a pre-plaster inspection, Kevin would not have been able to see the overhang as it WOULD have been covered up by the bricks.... He's definitely worth it!!!

The brick work is coming along so quickly.
We have had nothing much happen this week, its so frustrating. Apparently the framers are not quite finished yet, so the guys doing the gutters can't finish their last little bit until the framers finish. And then the roof tilers can't finish their little bit until the gutters are finished....aargh! :roll:

Our CSR told us that the house will be wrapped on Monday next week with the bricks starting later next week.
Have you been given an idea of when your house might be finished yet? We really want to be in by the end of May as thats when settlement on our current home is. I'm feeling very nervous that we might have to find temporary accomadation for a while. May is approaching way too fast!

Anyway congratulations on having such a lovely house, its really easy to see what the finished house is going to look like now. :lol:
