GO!!!!!!!!!!! 1026Aug 07, 2008 11:51 am Hi Nicola...
I just saw your latest pics and nearly had a heart attack when I saw the leaks....phewww....had to read further to see its all fixed..a job well done...very nice indeed...it looks like you are totally done with furnishings...did you buy them all new or some of them are from your previous home? congrats!!!!! Re: READY.....SET..... GO!!!!!!!!!!! 1027Aug 07, 2008 12:02 pm Thanks Ladyice, the chaise lounge is new in the family area, the bedroom suite was ours as was the dining table and chairs, the tv unit and the kids furniture was ours as well....but thinking about it, most of the rest is new.
The accessories are mostly new, and i'm always looking for new bargain buys....just to find different ways to subtly change the look or maybe find feature pieces for each room. There are rooms that are still in the planning stages so they will not be shown.....just yet. Please dont look at my WIR though Ladyice.... Re: READY.....SET..... GO!!!!!!!!!!! 1028Aug 07, 2008 12:38 pm Here are the pics of the new letterbox.....thought i'd show you all.....

When its all done i'll post some pics in the letterbox thread....just trying to find a nice stainless steel number to go with it now.... Re: READY.....SET..... GO!!!!!!!!!!! 1029Aug 07, 2008 1:59 pm Phoenix!!!!
I'm glad you're back! Wow, I love your timber floors!!! as well as the chandeliers!!! we're thinking of the same thing for our dining area. Love your entry hallway... About ***, you reckon we should still go with them? They have the lowest quote for the carpets Looking forward to see photos of your kitchen! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Built the Nevada 42 Next project - landscaping! Re: READY.....SET..... GO!!!!!!!!!!! 1030Aug 07, 2008 2:12 pm Nic the letterbox looks great. What is the pupe sticking up behind it for???
Look forward to seeing the finished product. Building with Porter Davis since October 2007 - what a nightmare!!! Re: READY.....SET..... GO!!!!!!!!!!! 1031Aug 07, 2008 2:20 pm Love the letterbox, the stainless steel will set it off!
Looking forward to seeing some bathroom/ensuite pics with the oyster linea that we picked!! My karma ran over your dogma Re: READY.....SET..... GO!!!!!!!!!!! 1033Aug 07, 2008 6:01 pm Paula Your letterbox looks great - I already think it matches your render from the last pic - must be my screen. I was thinking this too - it matches render and garage nicely already! Looks great!! Re: READY.....SET..... GO!!!!!!!!!!! 1034Aug 07, 2008 6:15 pm Thanks VJ, Bel, Paula and Donuts! The letter box's concrete colour is called cafe. Its close to the Barn Rafter render colour but the cafe is definitely lighter.
Bubaloo, the pipe behind the letterbox is the breather for the storm water and we'll be cutting it down at ground level once we have the garden done. VJ, i dont know what to say about *** and the carpet....we are happy with the quality of our carpet, its what we wanted and could afford, but if you want it to be laid as per Australian Standards and not with a knee kicker, i dont know, maybe get someone else to do that bit??? Sorry I better not say much more.... I'm still waiting for someone to come back to me with a date when they are going to "re-lay" ours!!! I shudder to think of how we're going to move all the furniture again, and pray that nothing else is damaged!!!!! Re: READY.....SET..... GO!!!!!!!!!!! 1035Aug 07, 2008 7:18 pm Your house and decor is fabulous. Love the chandelier, I have seen some nice ones similar, unfortunately they are expensive and DH would have a fit if I showed him the price. Where did you get the drum light in the study? I have been looking for a nice large one for the main bed and family, but have only seen the ones that dangle, and not as large as I would like. I also want to do something similar in my study as well, with the benchtop. I need to have an 'L' shape, (it is not only my study, but sewing room as well), and Ikea was the only place we had seen something to suit without being too thick or curvy, well that was before the new shop opened, haven't checked out whats on offer there for a while.
Anyways congratulations, you have done a great job with everything...even with all the dramas. Re: READY.....SET..... I'm both proud and embarrassed to say that i picked up the chandelier for $100 and the drum light for $32!!!!......lol....What are those styles of chandelier's worth retail these days??? I'd love to know??? If you are willing to look outside the square, you can always find something to suit the purpose.... I think a "floating" L shaped table would look great!!! It would give you heaps of space!!! Let us know how you go?? Re: READY.....SET..... GO!!!!!!!!!!! 1037Aug 07, 2008 9:31 pm This is the one I love...... at $240 odd, (online shop... similar one even more expensive at Beacon) DH will not let me buy. I love the red in it. Would go with the red splashback and red front door.

Here are some pics for you all..... We bought a large chocolate brown timber mirror 1000x1800 for our WIR: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Now trying to source a white leather ottoman or maybe a stool or something to go next to that mirror where the boxes are stacked....i think it needs something, but not sure what at this stage....First thought of a barcelona style ottoman but alas its too big for that spot....lol, but i'll keep looking until i find something nice! The master bedroom is taking shape now with our new chandelier and bedside lamps..... Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ And also a new occasional table for the wall opposite the bed....(borrowed some decor from the kitchen until i find something suitable for that spot.... ) Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ And outside, we bought some agave's to give a bold entrace to the house, just need some large river rocks to fill up the base layer and i think that area is done: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ We have one side fence going up, on the LHS of the house, which will be great for privacy with our lovely new neighbours....the other side fence is on hold...as we would like to get as much done in the back garden, with bringing in materials etc. through that side if we can, before the fence goes up..... But the next big thing on the list will be sourcing of the decking material for the front porch and then probably onto the gardens....still working on the designs for those.... More soon. Re: READY.....SET..... GO!!!!!!!!!!! 1040Aug 16, 2008 4:44 pm Wow~ It is looking really great Nic
I love the plants at the front They make the area look really welcoming - the pebbles will look great in there too Love the look you are going for with your home - you are going to be busy busy over the coming months- but to me this is the fun part! My karma ran over your dogma Use a product like Equisol's Vitalise to clean the deck then coat with a penetrating timber oil. It will look 10 years younger and add value to your home.
