Re: Plantation/Henley Emperor - Almost there 224Oct 18, 2011 11:03 am cookie_monster Looks great !!! What type of window coverings are you going to put in ? Thanks cookie, we not sure on the window coverings at the moment, I would really like to get some heavy triple pleated style curtains for the home theatre to give it a cinema feel. But we are umming and ahhing of the other windows we were thinking roman or roller blinds as an option and also tinting the windows for privacy, I do like curtains though.... I think that we'll be using the old sheet on the window trick when we first move in How is your build going? I see the bricking has started Re: Plantation/Henley Emperor - Almost there 225Oct 18, 2011 11:18 am Tamara1975 Love it, love it, love it!! Are the last pics the media room? Love the colour!! Can't wait to see the finished product with all the furniture in it. Thanks Tamara, yeah the last pics are the media room, they are a bit fuzzy as I forgot to take our good camera will try and get some better pics next time, the roof and trim in that room are called black fox from memory and then the walls and bulkheads are a dark grey so nice and dark for watching movies We can't wait to see it completed either, we'll have all of our old furniture for the moment until we can afford to go on a big spree and get the right pieces and look for each area, Mr BBR is keen on a nice square dining table in dark wood and we'll probably get a U shaped couch for the living area. Your place is looking great, just saw your decorating thread, where did you get your couch from? Your place is looking great, just saw your decorating thread, where did you get your couch from? We got the couch from Aussie Living in Logan central - next to super A mart. It was only $1700 and it is sooo comfy!! Re: Plantation/Henley Emperor - Almost there 228Oct 18, 2011 12:31 pm ajantakadam The kitchen is looking amazing!!!! Thanks, I'm really looking forward to getting in there and using it. We are really happy with the splashback too, it should break up all the silver and grey quite well. Cool, we will have to go and check them out, I think we get their catalogues in the letterbox occasionally so I shall save the next one. Re: Plantation/Henley Emperor - Almost there 230Oct 18, 2011 12:41 pm suzmic Hi, Your colour scheme inside looks great.. What colour paint did you go with for the interior walls?. Hi suzmic, the wall colour is called Taubmans Harbour Mist, it is a very light grey. We just went with the standard white for the ceilings and trim and the Home Theatre has its own colour scheme which is Taubmans Invincible for the walls and Taubmans Black Fox for the ceiling. I just checked our colour selections and the home theatre trim is listed as Taubmans Castanet which we are also using on the inside of the doors in that room. Re: Plantation/Henley Emperor - PCI booked! 232Oct 20, 2011 12:17 pm Did you have many\any variations? Not looking forward to the variations bill at the end........ So how long will it have taken to build based on the November date? Not looking forward to the variations bill at the end........ So how long will it have taken to build based on the November date? From site cut to PCI would be 6 months and from the house deposit it will have been 14 months (not that I'm counting ) Luckily our only variations on the final invoice were the $6.5k credit for the earthworks (which thankfully covered most of what we spent going overboard with the electrical provisions) we had been told about the credit in June and the $65 we paid to have a cutlery draw put in the island bench, which we knew about before the start of the build. There haven't been any other surprise costs and I guess since they have issued the final invoice they can't really charge for anything else? Re: Plantation/Henley Emperor - PCI booked! 235Oct 20, 2011 8:24 pm ajantakadam Congratulations on the PCI date.... just one month to go pretty exciting Thanks, yeah it is pretty exciting and daunting at the same time knowing that we have to pack up and move again but at least it will be for the last time for quite a while Hoping that there aren't too many issues to be fixed at PCI so that we can move in before Christmas. Re: Plantation/Henley Emperor - PCI booked! 236Oct 22, 2011 4:18 pm A huge amount of progress to report on this week - the light and electrical install has almost been completed and we are really happy with the choices we made for the light fittings. We were also really surprised to find that the oven and cooktop had been installed as we were expecting that they wouldn't have been done until handover, but still it was good to see them in. All up the progress to report this week is: -- Light fittings 99% installed -- Home theatre painting almost complete -- Smoke alarms installed -- Extractor fans in bathrooms and laundry installed -- Powerpoints and light switches installed -- Bathroom mirrors installed -- Bath in main bathroom installed -- Showerheads and showerscreens installed -- Bathroom sinks and taps installed -- Ovens, microwave, cooktop and rangehood installed And just for the piccy piggies here are the shots from this week: The ovens/microwave installed Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The electric cooktop Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The overview of the kitchen with all of its new additions, can't wait for it top be dust free! Overall we are happy with the workmanship that has gone in so far. Re: Plantation/Henley Emperor - PCI booked! 237Oct 23, 2011 7:42 am Hi there, I just read thru your thread with great interest.
