Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Plantation/Henley Emperor - PCI booked! 244Nov 04, 2011 1:59 pm tan39 Wow, everything is looking fantastic. Was going to say are there any neighbours around you? spotted a house nearby on one of the photos. It looks like a lovelly area... You must be thrilled... Thanks Tan, yes we have a couple of neighbours and a few of the other blocks have sold so it should be a nice little community once everyone has built, though I must say it will be nice having the peace and quiet for a little while first Re: Plantation/Henley Emperor - PCI booked! 245Nov 04, 2011 2:07 pm Looks really good !! The balcony on ours went up when the frame for the 2nd floor was done, I hope this helps. With only a few days to go until PCI more and more is being completed in our humble abode, the painter is there today finishing up their work, we got a call to confirm what colour we wanted the bottom trim of the balcony to be painted and we have gone with Windspray for this as it will hopefully break up the darker colours a little bit. We won't be in a huge hurry to move so they can take their time fixing everything, but of course they won't be getting paid until it is done Re: Plantation/Henley Emperor - PCI booked! 250Nov 16, 2011 11:48 am Is the space under the stairs supposed to be filled in, or will it be left like that? My stairs just went in last week, so I'm curious. Still waiting on the balcony (front and rear) to be done though...Thought it would have been done by now, given that bricking has been finished for 2 weeks. Scaffold still up though... Hi cookie, sorry about the delay in replying. The under stair space is meant to be open, but I believe you could probably ask for it to be filled or turned into storage, it is a fairly large area so it would be useful to put a small cupboard or similiar. It is good to hear that your build is moving ahead, you will be at lock-up soon enough. Re: Plantation/Henley Emperor - In and exhausted! 252Nov 21, 2011 4:58 pm Hi all Just a quick note to let you know we moved into our house on the weekend!! Yahooo!!!! We are completely exhausted and battered and bruised from moving furniture, poor Mr BBR was all on his lonesome today moving boxes as I had to go to work, but I have the day off tomorrow and will be lending a hand where I can. Everything is still downstairs at the moment as we are getting the carpets cleaned tomorrow before we put all the furniture in its place. Telstra will be around tomorrow to hook up the phone and internet and our earthworks on the shed should start this week too with any luck, we are going to get some basic earth works done around the house by the same contractor if we can. There are still a few things for Plantation's contractors to do around the place like painting, shelving and some electrical work, including the stovetop which isn't working (great excuse not to cook eh? ) most will be done this week though. Will post up some pics in the coming days. Re: Plantation/Henley Emperor - In and exhausted! 253Nov 21, 2011 8:40 pm Congrats on moving in!! You won't know yourselves with all that space!! Can't wait to see pics with all the furniture!! Our space underneath the stairs is closed in, fantastic storage space, I can put xmas tree, suitcases and all sorts in there without taking up room in the garage... Congrats on moving in... How exciting must it be. We are getting really close now. Our driveway and footpaths went in yesterday... very happy about that as rain in forecasted for later this week the tank is coming tomorrow, hopefully it will be hooked up so we can catch some rain Re: Plantation/Henley Emperor - In and exhausted! 255Nov 22, 2011 7:50 am How exciting !!!! Have fun with all the unpacking lol Land Deposit - 18/12/2009 Became a land Baron - 21/12/2010 Site Start - 27/1/2011 All moved in!! Re: Plantation/Henley Emperor - In and exhausted! 259Dec 05, 2011 11:47 am It has been a while since the last post and as you can imagine we have been very busy packing, cleaning the old rental, cleaning the new house and slowly unpacking to make it feel more like a home. PCI went well with a handful of things coming up as needing to be fixed like the aircon and some brick work but nothing major and most of the tradies have now been and done the repairs. We had a last minute scramble to do the handover of keys as we were waiting on Plantation to get the final certifications before the bank would release the money but we got there in the end. We had the carpets cleaned to get rid of all the yucky building dust and they came up a treat, the guy even managed to get some of the paint out that had been dripped on after the carpet had been installed. We also have a fashionable black plastic sheet over the window to help us sleep but we are likely to get some blockout blinds in the new year. The Telstra line has been installed but we haven't hooked up our internet yet but that should be soon. More posts will be coming later on so keep an eye out.
