We've got a 1000 sqm block that has a dry sewer line at the back (would have a heart attack if council actually connected it before 2020), so in the meantime we need a waste treatment system.
I had the geo-someone-or-another do up the waste treatment plan, using the Biolytix system (which is what I prefer) all ready for submitting to council. Problem is the plan came back with the waste disposal area taking up our entire yard ... no room for a pool or shed (now or in the future). When I questioned him he said that's the only option as our soil is poor, we have a large house (30 squares) and a small block, nothing we can do.
Looking at nearmap it shows neighbours (all built in the last few years so not using old septic systems) have the same or smaller blocks than us (all blocks are 900-1000 sqm) and have backyards full of sheds, slabs and pools, so there must be another way.
Thought I would ask others who have 'small' blocks with a HSTP system and ask what you've done ... what size is your disposal areas?
I'm going to door knock our neighbours and see if they'll share what they've done, but would love some feedback from other H1ers as well.
