Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Sep 22, 2010 10:50 pm Hi I'm looking for people who have built with Oakford Homes in Sth Aust to hear their experiences they have had building with them. I can't find much on them and can't decide whether that is a gd thing or bad thing. If you want to do it privately feel free to PM me. Thanks for reading. Re: Oakford Homes 2Sep 23, 2010 4:37 pm We are just starting the process with them. Have done our selections and have final interview on Monday. Awaiting final engineering report (though we know there wont be much in the way of surprises there as we had a similar design and sized house all engineered with another builder but had major issues with them so pulled out) and the plans are at council awaiting the engineering information. So far they have been absolutely wonderful. Great customer service, great client liason and fast turn around with information and return phone calls. Comparative to our previous builder, they are absolutely fantastic Megan and John Signed with Oakford 8/8/10 Plans at council 25/8/10 FINAL COUNCIL APPROVAL 29/11/10 Site start - 17/1/11 Cut & Fill commence - 21/1/11 Follow my build here: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=41283 Re: Oakford Homes 4Sep 23, 2010 11:28 pm Thankyou both for your prompt replies, I apprecitate it very much. They are giving me a really good vibe so far, I know someone else who built with them and he had no issues and his house looks really nice, inside and out! I also think I will not need to upgrade hardly anything when I go to selections, coz the standard of products they use seem a very high standard. Can I ask you both specifically whether you built on fairly flat blocks or with slopes? And also if your final pricings were far off the quotes? I'm only a little worried they aren't quoting me enough on my split level footings. Cheers guys! Re: Oakford Homes 5Sep 24, 2010 7:45 am Our block was sloping but we did not do split level. We built in one of the land estates that oakford owns, and 4 years ago (not sure if they still do it now) everyone who built in the estate paid the same for footings regardless of their land flat, slopy. whatever? I think everyone paid 8000 for their footings and they were fixed before they even did the engineers test, was really good way to do it, but I assume you are building on your own land. I have also just built a new split level home, if you wanna pm me I can go through my costs for that in terms of footings Ask for references and speak to them. If they are defensive or try to avoid the request, walk. 1 74688 I would never build with Fowler homes. I built with them in 2021 and till date maintenance issues are pending.
