Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Sep 21, 2010 9:51 pm Hello everyone, just wanted to know how everyone is going with WM homes? we had a bit of a hiccup with our DA & was wondering how everyone else is doing?...we're building the Waterfront in Sydney. Re: Westminster Homes new thread 2Sep 28, 2010 3:09 pm Hi there, What problem did you have with your DA? Our DA has been a nightmare - Ryde council took 5 and a half months to process a section 96 (amendment to an originally approved DA). The original DA only took 3 months. Now we are applying for the construction certificate but there seem to be a few outstanding queries in the consent conditions that related to the original DA and it is not clear whether they relate to our S96....so we are hoping this can get cleared up ASAP. We are building a Pengilly and have a great relationship manager at Westminster. You should call up at least once a week to check on the status of the application. WM homes told us that we could go thru certifiers instead of the council, this was way back in June, they got all the paperwork ready, then submitted them to the certifiers, only to be told our application does not comply.....this means 8 weeks were wasted in this whole process , we were told there is no other option than to submit to council Re: Westminster Homes new thread 4Oct 12, 2010 7:48 pm Oh dear - that sounds like a nightmare. We have our CC now and are just waiting on some waterboard details now. I'm feeling very nervous about our colour choices - what if we get it wrong?!! Have posted another thread via Michelle the colour expert (as can't work out how to upload pics!). Could be the cause of the problem Re: Westminster Homes new thread 6Oct 13, 2010 7:43 am Hi free will - the bottom of the land is a flood zone, but it slopes up quite steeply (there is a big rock ledge too) so shouldn't be a problem. Nothing has been mentioned in the consent re: flood zone. The CC has come through - just waiting on sewer peg out, waterboard approvals etc now.
