Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Sep 21, 2010 6:35 pm ** Note - the silly poll wiped itself when I added more colours Please vote again!!! ** Ladies & Gents, I received an email from my estate today informing my that my choice of front door colour "Box Red" was not approved I didn't quite realise that even the front door must align with a pre-determined colour palette! So without further delay, I've decided to let YOU, the homeone forum community pick a replacement colour for me! That's right. Vote for the colour and watch it happen! Can you feel the power? The power to choose my door colour? You betcha! First up, the colour schemes chosen for the house. Note - this isn't my house design, just a representation to show approximate colour choices. The shaded door in the picture is the outlawed "Red Box" ! It was either that or Woodland Grey for me, but I thought Woodland Grey might look too samey. Loft would also work, but that looks too much like this decade's Mission Brown for me. I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Re: Choose my front door colour! :D 3Sep 21, 2010 6:49 pm Wow, are they seriously that strict now in WL? That's a bit over the top (imo anyway). I thought the front door on the image you attached was a wood stained one until I read the rest of your post. I think a wood stained door would look really good (if you can upgrade) and then just get wood blinds in the front rooms to tie it all in??? Or what colour is that on your guttering? Maybe do that colour for your front door? I like a front door to tie in with something on the facade... Just my thoughts Re: Choose my front door colour! :D 4Sep 21, 2010 6:50 pm I picked Deep Ocean for some contrast... I've seen it in real life.. it's a very nice colour!! Or otherwise I'd go with what Joles has picked, Ironstone... Re: Choose my front door colour! :D 5Sep 21, 2010 6:53 pm n&n02 Wow, are they seriously that strict now in WL? I went for Jasper coz I lurve it and have chosen it for my "one day if the land ever titles" home. I'd throw some render somewhere on the facade to break all the brown tones up a bit though. Oops, don't mind me. When I first opened your pic, the colour of your gutters looked like a darker colour on my screen so I thought you had chosen a contrasting colour for gutters. But I've now seen from your pic that the gutters and fascia match. This is jasper front door btw - http://i831.photobucket.com/albums/zz237/nandn02/P8230034.jpg Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Choose my front door colour! :D 11Sep 21, 2010 7:27 pm joles Loft would also work, but that looks too much like this decade's Mission Brown for me. I chose Loft and then scrolled down to see what others chose. Re: Choose my front door colour! :D 12Sep 21, 2010 7:38 pm Thanks for the pic! Wow- Jasper looks much darker in real life! It looks more like what I imagined "Loft" would look like! But let the people speak! Vote on! Building at Warner Lakes in sunny Queensland. Building with Bold Properties. Looks like the voting is currently a dead heat between Jasper and Loft. I'm going to take the homeone forum's word on this one - whatever colour wins will be my front door! Will probably have to close voting later today OOh the anticipation! Edit - OOOH Disaster! I added "Monument" to the poll and it wiped the votes! OH dear! It just pops on the images that Judie has posted. Hopefully your builder will allow darker colours though without voiding the door warranty due to the possibility of warping.
