Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Sep 19, 2010 9:54 pm Hi everyone, Need some advice here. We want to have a tiled floor surface for the outdoor area/pergola. Is it possible to tile over anything other than a concrete slab in this case? We're thinking that perhaps it's possible to build a deck and then cover it with some kind of sheeting (not sure what exactly) and then tile normally as you would do over a concrete base. Has anyone done this? If this is possible, can this work long term (like it works with concrete)? My signature is distracting people from my wise posts ... Re: Tiling over sheet material 2Sep 19, 2010 10:05 pm Just came across this product: http://scyon.com.au/secura_exterior.html Seems like it could be suitable, and we wouldn't even need to build a deck first, these sheets could go straight over the joists??!?! So, in the meantime, wanted to know if anyone's done it or knows of it My signature is distracting people from my wise posts ...
