Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Sep 18, 2010 9:22 pm Hi everyone, Having an interesting time trying to make my way through the owner builder minefield. Drafty working on the plans, have a wastewater management report, halfway through the fire report (we are in a fire zone - level 1 so not too bad). Hubby and I did the contour levels for the block - 1 acre very gentle slope < 2 percent so very good. Now found out that it looks like we need to engage a surveyor in order to peg out the house???? There are no survey pegs in the subdivision but all the blocks are fully fenced. We just thought we could peg out with the setbacks from the front and side fence etc. Does anyone know if and how much we would have to pay a surveyor to set out for us. These blocks must have been surveyed for the subdivision as there are other houses being or have been built in the subdivision. Any advice would be gratefully received. Thanks Thank you so much for the effort. We will use it to talk with builder. We also had idea of building duplex instead and seeking suggest ions. viewtopic.php?f=31&t=106744 11 13817 Hello It is good to have a planned bathroom reno to suit your budget and design, living for 10 years I think you need a bathtub 4 10353 Looking to start the journey of becoming an owner builder in SA.
