More Photo's

The tiler finished one day late. So fit off is due on Monday. I think we reached fixing stage yesterday afternoon once the wet areas were done. The ss date of PC on the 16th is impossible I would think. They only measured for the shower screens yesterday and I can't see them being done and installed by this coming Friday. The tiler will be back once the stuffuo with my waterfall bench top is fixed. All the applicance arrived yesterday lets hope they make it to handover :roll:

One stuff up we have noticed is the two side by side holes in the tiles for points - one is for power the other phone I think. The phone one should be in the childres retreat that backs onto the pantry. We might just end up with a third phone point

Thanks Paula. Yep, $15 will go a long way :roll:

Will nearly cover the storage shed we have but forget about the rent. :twisted:

I am really in a bit of a pickle because I still don't know what I want :oops:

Not really a curtain person. I want a wow type factor and I think this rules out verticals. I like timber venitians but hubby doesn't :roll:

I like the ones Matt has in his kitchen/meals area I think they are called Roman but I am not sure if they will be too much for the whole house.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreicated

I think Romans would look nice, not too much for a whole house - my new one has them in every room except the main bedroom.

If you want some wow factor on some add a pelmet, it dresses up the window, good for more formal areas.

I just noticed that you have a phone point in the pantry.

This is where I would put it over the kitchen, no messy cords out on view.

we have had a bit more progress this week. Glass splash back was installed (not convinced with colour but once everything else is done and we have stuf in the kitchen it should look OK :oops:

)

Waterfall side for island bench have been installed.

All the door furniture has been installed. Insulation bats have been delivered to be installed next week I imagine.

Garagre door was to be installed yesterday but that is yet to be done :roll:

Cleaner was booked for Monday be SS said he will put it back a bit. SS very kee to push for PC but there is still a number of things to do before then

Paint & plaster Job is a shocker.

4 out of 5 nights this week the house has been left unlocked. On Monday windows, doors everything left open. Tuesday internal garage door left open, front door unlocked and key left in it :evil:

. Thursday launry door unlocked. Tonight interanl garage door unlocked :roll:

We'll be having porcelain tiles too throughout the house except for the study and HT downstairs and bedrooms upstairs.

The glass splashback looks nice... are you having overhead cupboards to your kitchen?

I showed the photos to DH.. because we almost built that house!

So it's $15/day penalty for them... on our part, it's going to be $250/week (hope it won't happen though.. that is, the delay).

I can't wait to see our house at that stage!!

Looking forward to more photos soon!

I think you probably saw this in another thread but yep it is staphire and is called snakeskin

We opted to wait and see with overheads. M wanted to charge something like $3000 for them. Looking at it now I think it needs something but we will wait and see.

We asked for more than $15 in the contract but they wouyldn't have a bar of it :evil:

one thing seems to happen each day at the moment. Our garage door went on on Monday and the insulation, whirlybird and vents went in today.

What? $3,000? :shock:

What kind of overhead cupboard is that? Will that cover the whole length of the benchtop that's why it's that expensive?

I think we've been quoted $900ish for 2 overhead cupboards on either side of our rangehood.

I have found your thread to be informative, interesting, scary, exciting, you know, all the stuff that goes with building! I am new to this and only just stumbled accross this site.

We are building the same house just outside of Melbourne. Land settles in two weeks. Final contract in four weeks. (Hopefully!)

So far so good. Our big m experience so far,
-outstanding sales consultant, and I mean outstanding, he has worked so hard for us I am thrilled with him
-great customer service co-ordinator so far, unfortunately she is leaving the company
-average studio 501 (colour) consultant

Two out of three not bad!

I noticed you added a powder room. We did the same near the laundry. That was the only problem I found with the design, long way for kids to drag mud through the house to get to the toilet. Powder room should be standard on that house.

Looking forward to seeing your next round of photos!

Hi Everyone,

I am back from my self imposed exile. I found it the easest way rather than having to bit my tounge or say things I shouldn't. Also a good way to cool down a bit rather than being so rash.

So where are we up to :?:

This is what the house looked like a week or so ago. Still looks the same today apart from being very very wet :!:

Things are moving inside but not as fast as we hoped. As of today we are 20 days past contract and counting.

Our shower screens have been installed as have the taps shower roses etc. The mirror in the main bathroom went in with the shower screens but the ensuite on didn't, wondering if it was the wrong size :roll:

Privacy glass is to be replaced in the bathroom and ensuite today as it was the wrong sort :roll:

(only problem is is that it is raining cats & dogs here as I type)

Plasterer has been back and done lots of patching and I think the painter is due back today :?:

Water tank and attachments installed (and it is now full)

Powder room basin installed. Should have sat the other way with tap against the wall however Caroma only make one way only :roll:

We do have some big issues at the moment that date back to drafting stage but I will give M the opportunity to fix these before I post them here.

I funny one for you though. Below is a photo of the main toilet door after it was removed. We had a sight visit a few weeks ago to discover the toilet locked tight. The safety release from the other side wouldn't work so they had to kick it in. Needless to say I will be checking all of these before handover.

One problem that sits with our SS at the moment is our bath. We took issue with the location of the tap (not the spout) back before the walls were sheeted. We think it should be on the wall like the display home but it sits horizonal on the bath hob. Sure enough the plans showed this so it had to stay. The bath tilling etc has now been installed and the bath does not sit in the centre of the window. The plans show it in the middle of the window even with the tap so I want it fixed. :roll:

Only time will tell :!:

I went back & had a look iot was actually just over $2000. That would have given us double cupboard either side plus open shelves toward the rangehood. Hoping some pendant litghs will break it up also. Only time and us being in the house will tell :roll:

So my thoughts are mixed after reading afew talkes of horror on here.
I'd really like to pick your brain about which SC to use etc and some pitfalls to avoid, lets call it a lessons leant based on what you guys have been through.

Anyway wish you all the best with your build and wish like heck we were on a canal as well, too bloody far to comute to CBD though
