Did you hear about the Irish painter called Paddy . . . Too funny What was the issues with plaster / paint? My wifes Brother is a plasterer and ceiling fixer by trade so will be getting him to look over a lot of the work on our place, oh and my 2 best mates are house painters. Next door next neighbour is a mechanic, just need a sparky, a chippie and plumber! Lets just hope that all your issues are now behind and smooth waters from now onwards! Re: Met9icon building - canal 202Jun 19, 2008 12:30 pm Hi Peter

Very nice alfresco area... can't wait to see all the post-handover stuff that you;re going to do in that area... Hope you still keep us posted (with lots of photos! ) even after your handover... ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Built the Nevada 42 Next project - landscaping! So glad I didn't marry someone like my DAD The amount of money we have saved over the years is huge Working on update now Anne ahh ok I'm very pedantic with paint finishes, espcially the demarkation between wall and cornice, if it is not very neat I will be yelping! I can do a lot of things, just not licenced in any of them. Wifes brorther is a plasterer, can do concreting and capentry so will be getting him engaged in a lot of the followon projects and learning a lot of those things from him. We have a meeting with Melissa on Monday evening to go through everything from scratch so feeling much happier to be dealing with her. Have you got a handover date yet? cheers Peter Re: Met9icon building - canal 213Jun 19, 2008 5:17 pm Quote: yes everyone is SOOOOO jealous....i cant beleive that is ur backyard!!! Re: Met9icon building - canal 216Jun 20, 2008 7:45 pm Anne,
did you get floor and wall tiling done through M or using seperate vendor? I recall you said they were really pedatic and that is what we want, a pedantic tiler, really do not care how long he takes as long as it is a 1st rate job. Could you let me know who the tiler was please? ta cheers Peter ps you guys will have to get matching white sandshoes now hehe Re: Met9icon building - canal 218Jun 21, 2008 1:32 pm Quote: I would say the block is worth around the $750 - 850 mark add water, stirr and you get $$$$$ Will end up under the $850 all up including the pontoon. Was aiming for under $800 originally but the retain wall at the back will push us over that Quote: Anne, did you get floor and wall tiling done through M or using seperate vendor? There are probably places that I would have liked a little flatter but that is more the make and size of the tile than the tiler. We got all floor tiling included so if there was any probs M had to fix and it was all done before handover. May have been a bit cheaper to do it after by alot less hastle. Same with the water tank WE are getting him back to tile the outdoor room after DH concrete's it. Tilers name is Rob, will have to find his details Do you get to go to the new displays on Monday night for you meeting with Mel? I can't wait to get my hands on the house May have only been 200 odd days but at times it has felt like it would never get here. We went to a work party last night and they had one of those black 8 balls you ask a question then shake for an answer. I ask it if I would get the keys on Tuesday and its respomse was "of that you can be assured" I will take any sign I can get at the moment Quote: I'm so happy for you, the pontoon looks great and the boat looks lovely in it's new home! How come it got to move in before you??? Thanks Nicola. We tried taking it the night before but we had a massive tide and couldn't get under the bridge at the entry to the canal. DH would have had it there the minute he bought it if he had the chance. Anne Anne, you guys did very well to get all of that for that amount, especailly on a canal. We are around that number already though bigger house, we did consider up that way at Bribie but as we both work in CBD the comute would kill us, plus did not want to interupt Anthony's schooling. He is just settling in and he does not adjust well to change at all.
