Thought I would finally start my own thread now that we have chosen a builder and started the selections process. Just waiting on the other house to sell so we can actually make a start! *fingers crossed*
Had my first meeting with the designer yesterday. I liked her... but I think she was a little frustrated with my indecisiveness. It probably didn't help that by the time I got to the appt in the afternoon of an extremely busy day I was absolutely shattered and just wanted to have a nap. In saying that, nothing really caught my attention and I didn't get that 'OOOhhhh I LOVE that' feeling about anything I saw... I just didn't feel a WoW factor. In saying that, after a night out with friends and a good nights sleep I am beginning to see it all come together now.
Below are (badly taken) photos of the samples she gave me to ponder over... excluding the some of the main floor/wall tiles for the bathrooms, which we had already selected ourselves. I didn't take them to the meeting so that she may give me some fresh ideas, but it turns out that what she had in mind for me goes well with the tiles we had already got samples of (at least I think so).
Please feel free to give honest opinions. I realise we're quite boring going with browns... but I just love my browns, anything earthy really
I'd rather hear bad advice now than once it is all in and paid for
Cementi floor & wall tiles, picked by us. The feature, travertine (for a feature) & bench top options were chosen by the designer, without having seen our tiles. I think they go quite nicely? I like these tiles because they are just SO plain, I realise that doesn't make a great deal of sense.

Wall tile (Ekky?) GRES (it has nice texture to it with lines running through it).

Original photo options, with the designers choice of cupboards... neither of us are fans of it. Open to suggestions (I'm thinking a plain med-dark wood of some sort- possibly like the option in the kitchen).

Kitchen Option 1: Bianco Argento granite tops, smokey mirror splashback, white gloss overheads and drawers (under-bench),wood-look (with a fine grain for texture) appliance wall.

Kitchen Option 3: Bianco Argento granite tops, smokey mirror splashback, white gloss overheads and drawers (under-bench), Espresso or Black gloss appliance wall. The brown is definately showing less smudges than the black, but it isn't as dark as I had imagined it either, doesn't have the same WoW factor as the black. Either will be hard work to keep looking nice, as they are on a West facing wall, opposite 3 glass windows where the sun will set.
