Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Sep 17, 2010 7:28 am Hi All, I'm new to this forum so please ignore if you dislike my question or way of asking I'm building a new house with Simonds builder in Epping, VIC, Just curious to know how much time it takes for builder to move on to lock up stage from frame stage. Also should I worry about hiring a independent building surveyor to have inspection as frame stage? Many Thanks G. Re: Time & Inspection 2Sep 17, 2010 8:53 am My inspector recommends frame stage and completion stage inspections, but doesn't think there's a huge benefit to lockup and fixing inspections. He also recommends a pre-pour slab inspection for raft slabs, but not for waffle pods. He found 2 major issues (and many other minor ones which he said aren't worth fixing) with my frame, and said it was better than most he has seen. The issues were some roof trusses at an angle, and some studs placed too widely apart under some windows.
