Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Sep 16, 2010 9:42 pm HI, We're considering building the Dunsborough by Total Home Frames in Perth and wonder if anyone out there in cyberland has built one. Also, any feedback about pole homes in general would be appreciated. The other two major builders I've spoken to in Perth quote upwards of $80 K EXTRA to build this style on a steel frame and no-one else seems to build on treated poles. Please correct me if I'm wrong. The reason we think poles are the go is that we have about 2 1/2 m of fall where we want to build back to front so a pad would be ugly and expensive. Ta in advance for any help vegemate ( looking to build near Clackline ) Re: Total Home Frames Perth - Dunsborough Design 2Sep 17, 2010 9:58 am Hi again, Here's a scan of the house ( with verandahs ) and the contours to give a better idea of the fall rather than just saying " 2 1/2 m". Again, any feedback welcomed! Damn - just got the message "Sorry, the board attachment quota has been reached." while trying to upload so I'll have to try again sometime. Does anyone know if this quota gets reset or how I go about doing this? I did squish the file down small small..... Re: Total Home Frames Perth - Dunsborough Design 3Sep 17, 2010 11:13 pm AHA! Finally checked other posts and worked out the Photobucket paste trick! So, here's the contour survey of how the Dunsborough would look on our block. Contour lines are at 0.1 m with even metres labelled. Did it myself but that's another story..... This really shows graphically the 2.5 m fall across the house I've been babbling about. Any feedback on Perth pole home builders? Does anyone know where there is a built or being built Dunsborough by Total Home Frames that we could look at if even from the road???? Thanks in advance for ANY help........ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Cheers vegemate That sucks! Hope it all works out. Good to move away from steel anyway for all your reasons, but it's also thermally poor. 16 13734 If this is a custom build then I would expect the builder to set out the door frame closer to the wall to avoid the gap between architrave and the wall and or specify… 9 6282 |
