Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Modified Sorrento - Dechellis Homes 22Dec 10, 2010 9:20 am SORRY EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!! We moved house about 6 weeks ago and I have had no internet connection... BUT I'M BACK!! Everything is going full steam ahead... a bit too quick if you ask me!! Schedule upto bricking stage was to the day - which is absolutley fantastic on Dechellis's behalf Slab was poured 27th October - and now we are already half way through gyprock?!!! Lock up scheduled in 2 weeks...... All my cabinetry is going in on 20th/21st January.. So i'm thinking end of April handover may turn into march handover maybe? seems so fast?!!! Loving my colour choices so far - bricks are lovely & love my roof colour too... Can't wait for render though! The granite in the kitchen will be the focal point as it has a beautiful pattern through it....... I think that's enough 'pizzaz' Don't want the home to look too over the top!! Eveleng , RobbieC & Sorrento - what was the timeframe from lock up to handover for you guys?? Have had a look at your forums and WOW you guys have beautiful homes!! you should all be over the moon with your colour choices etc... looks FABULOUS BUILDING WITH DECHELLIS HOMES BUILDING THREAD - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=38522 BUILDING START DATE 20/9/2010 Re: Modified Sorrento - Dechellis Homes 24Dec 10, 2010 9:25 am Looking good, congrats on the progress. contract signed: Nov 09 Released to Construction: 23 Jul 10 Slab poured: 9 Aug 10 Frame completed: 30 Aug 10 Windows & Gutters: 7 Sep 10 Bricks: 15 - 23 Sep 10 Roof: 24 Sep 10 Gyprock: 20 Oct 10 Lockup: 25 Oct 10 Kitchen: 27 Oct 10 Tiling: 6 - 9 Nov 10 Painting: 17 Nov 10 Carpet: 30 Nov 10 PCI: 15 Dec 10 Handover: 17 Dec 10 https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=35943 Re: Modified Sorrento - Dechellis Homes 25Dec 10, 2010 12:41 pm Hey there! Glad you are back on board. I was getting worried something was wrong but glad it was just internet issues! From the time of site scrape to keys handed to us will be 7 months. It would have been 6 months but we had a really wet winter which pushed things back a month. We have had a relatively good experience with Dechellis so i hope that you have a good experience too. I called my SS today and he answered with "Hello Robyn". This means that he must recognise my number which I am not sure is a good thing or a bad thing... At least he answered so it must be a good thing! Your house is coming along so fast. You should definately be in by April if you get to lock up in January. We get our keys next Tuesday which is very exciting. ------------------------------------------------------ Handover: 14 December 2010 Current: Putting in plants! Of course I was also very looking forward to seeing that granite so I'm pleased you kept that for the kitchen Re: Modified Sorrento - Dechellis Homes 27Dec 14, 2010 10:19 am Wow... went past the house yesterday and Gyprock people were leaving! all finished!! Flushing is getting done today. Will go down tomorrow on my day off and take some pics Does anyone have any recommendations for exposed aggregate driveways?? Think that's the look we will be wanting... Have contacted Panorama concrete but would like to get price comparison. Can't wait I only have 3 days left of coming into work before 3 and a half weeks of relaxation...... by relaxation i mean getting everything ready for Christmas, my sons birthday party (turning 2 !! why did he decide to be born 5 days after christmas?!!!) , getting quotes for the curtains, driveways, looking at loungesuites, dining tables etc... seeing my sister who's down from queensland.....ARRRRRGHHH hectic! Just waiting for it ot be emailed through. We have had a big difference in some pricing already. One person quoted the equivalent of $175 sqm which I think is crazy! And actually etting people to come out and quote is another challenge at the moment. I wil let you know how we go. ------------------------------------------------------ Handover: 14 December 2010 Current: Putting in plants! Re: Modified Sorrento - Dechellis Homes 30Jan 13, 2011 9:31 am Panorama Concrete Paving was the best quote for exposed aggregate. It is $85sqm plus labour but the labour wasnt too bad. I am sure paving is slightly cheaper but we really wanted the concrete and needed a concrete wall on one side of our house. We also felt that their service was excellent. Very knowlegable and also their choice of stones/pebbles was good. ------------------------------------------------------ Handover: 14 December 2010 Current: Putting in plants!
