Re: First time builder with DAH - On the home straight 123Dec 03, 2011 2:50 pm Spoke to Site Super on Thursday - "garage door all fixed". Went round to house this morning - no it's not, press operate and the door closes and then reopens again as it senses an obstruction - needs to be calibrated. Tradies should know this and let the site super know. It will be very interesting to see how much of the PCI list actually gets done, four working days to handover and the list hasn't changed much at all. Hoping for a blitz this week but will it happen? Re: First time builder with DAH - On the home straight 124Dec 05, 2011 3:32 pm Althom, that obstruction reaction thingo, are they meant to come as standard, do you know? I tested mine a couple of weeks ago.. I put a broom under the door, and the door crushed the broom! Oops! I thought I read in the manual that the door should go back up if it hits something? Or is that an 'optional extra'? Oceanic with Nautilus upgrades. Handover 8 September 2010 Re: First time builder with DAH - On the home straight 125Dec 05, 2011 10:07 pm B&D does but not centurion by default or the opener that comes standard. Ant - Sounds like what I had... It was just a couple of button presses to force it further and all done. If they can't figure it out (our ex-SS knew what the solution is) let me know and I will lok in the manual and tell you what it is to fix it. Re: First time builder with DAH - On the home straight 127Dec 07, 2011 6:28 pm just noticed your pm but was deleted before I got to read it. Was it about the Garage? was it what I typed up previously? Re: First time builder with DAH - On the home straight 128Dec 07, 2011 9:24 pm Yep that's all seemed to be stuck in my outbox so deleted it. 36 hours to handover and not surprisingly the majority of items on the PCI lists not done and some items like the painting have actually got worse rather than better. Stuff that really pees me off are items such as the gate valve for the retic and letterbox -offer it as part of the deal, charge me $400 each for them and then don't put them in. Small things but annoying none the less and reflective of the entire experience. Can I wait 3 months for them to do it - no - so why offer them up front if you have no intention of installing them and can I get the money back - should be an interesting discussion. The idea of a new house has lost all the gloss thanks to our so called builder. Re: First time builder with DAH - Keyed 129Dec 09, 2011 6:24 pm Keys collected. Last minute blitz by DAH - couple of contract items still not supplied but there was nothing stopping us taking it over so we can move on. Landscaping started this afternoon, floors starting tomorrow. I could have cried all the way home, and it definitely wouldn't have been tears of joy. I can't wait to see your own personal touches go in.. that is the good part, because the tradies are now under YOUR control. Oceanic with Nautilus upgrades. Walk in robes and office fitout to go and sealing of garage floor and pavers. Re: First time builder with DAH - Keyed 136Jan 26, 2012 5:04 pm Office and wardrobe fitout almost finished - one of the benchtops doesn't quite fit and one of the hanging areas in the WIR isn't what was on the plan. It's OK but just like the build the result doesn't quite meet the expectation. http://i1211.photobucket.com/albums/cc4 ... 260112.jpg Re: First time builder with DAH - Keyed 137Feb 03, 2012 12:43 am Nice office, Althom! Our office was a fifth bedroom on the plans, so we took part of the walls out as per the Nautilus display, and changed the BIR from sliding doors to 4 built-in shelves. Love your desk space! Handover 8 September 2010 Re: First time builder with DAH - Keyed 138Feb 04, 2012 8:50 am Now just have to wait till the money tree sprouts again and get the second PC in place. Anyone know a reliable sparkie south of the river? - had one bloke booked to come and do our lights and ceiling fans yesterday and he just didn't turn up If the eaves are fixed first, the eaves line is about 250 mm below the top plate of wall frame. If the cladding ie hebel stops just under the eave line, then that means… 2 56543 Electrical just got back to me and said the most they can provide is a single power point on the Bedroom 1 side of that wall.
