Deb DTC Its not mirror-like at all, from the outside it just looks dark charcoal, and suitably awesome. It really makes the windows look crisp and defined if you know what I mean. They apply it to the inside of the window, you can do it yourself apparently but that was never going to happen in our household. I'll put some photos up on my thread with some more info. I like the thought of it and after I mentioned this to DH we were interested. I know car windows are expensive to tint so this would be rather expensive too? We have the early morning sun coming in on the front of the house.. I don't know whether to do it to the front or the kids rooms that get the afternoon sun! I guess it would be cheaper than roller shutters which is what we originally wanted.. We want to put that film on our glass sliding doors. No idea how much that is going to cost. At the moment so much heat comes in those doors, it would be good to have a film on them. contract signed: Nov 09 Released to Construction: 23 Jul 10 Slab poured: 9 Aug 10 Frame completed: 30 Aug 10 Windows & Gutters: 7 Sep 10 Bricks: 15 - 23 Sep 10 Roof: 24 Sep 10 Gyprock: 20 Oct 10 Lockup: 25 Oct 10 Kitchen: 27 Oct 10 Tiling: 6 - 9 Nov 10 Painting: 17 Nov 10 Carpet: 30 Nov 10 PCI: 15 Dec 10 Handover: 17 Dec 10 https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=35943 Re: Building with Dechellis in Magill 405Mar 18, 2011 12:43 pm Hi Robbie. We are in the process of getting our 3 month maintenance done too (even though we have been in for over 5 months). We had heaps of painting issues too - lots of cracking - and gyprocking problems. I found doing the report quite stressful ... I was worried that I would miss something big! I will be watching with interest to see how you get on. Building with Dechellis in Magill 406Mar 24, 2011 8:23 am Robbie... I haven't forgotten about your PM.. our grass went down & I definitely recommend getting professionals to do everything. Not just someone that claims to be able to do it. My little jack could have done the same job these kn0bs did. Oh well, if it grows terribly I have DH to blame. It didn't matter how many times I went out and asked them to move/fix a part of the grass they just ignore me like I had no idea what i was talking about. After all.. I am a woman, what would I know? Re: Building with Dechellis in Magill 407Mar 28, 2011 2:46 pm what colour cupboards and bench is you ensuite.? i also love the layout of how you have the shower and ensuite with the door Re: Building with Dechellis in Magill 408Mar 30, 2011 10:14 am Hi Wildorchid - I forgot to check what the colours were so will do it tonight. I know the ensuite bench was a laminex diamond gloss product and the cupbards I think were oyster linea? Will check tonight for you. Also, we have received our quote for our grass and sub-surface irrigation and it is being done in a few weeks time! Yipee! Nothing much else to update. The painters are finishing off the painting stuff on thursday and we have the rest of the maintenace being done on the 11th April. ------------------------------------------------------ Handover: 14 December 2010 Current: Putting in plants! He said he would be arriving at 8am, but instead was on the doorstep at 7.15am. Very dedicated I guess ... Re: Building with Dechellis in Magill 413Mar 31, 2011 12:06 pm Entertainer, funny you said that because this morning at 7am (as I was still tucked up in bed) the door bell rang. It was the painter!!! He was meant to be there at 7:30am so he was quite early. I made DH jump out of bed and put his clothes on to answer the door. ------------------------------------------------------ Handover: 14 December 2010 Current: Putting in plants! My View thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=38242&hilit=dechellis+magill Re: Building with Dechellis in Magill 416Mar 31, 2011 2:00 pm The painters must be running backwards and forwards from my house to yours ... we are still having difficulty getting everything resolved with our paintwork. Are you happy with the work they have done for you? Re: Building with Dechellis in Magill 417Mar 31, 2011 2:11 pm The initial work we were not happy at all. It was terrible and really basic stuff like getting the wall paint on the skirting boards etc. Not much care was taken on the initial job. However, it seems to be ok at the moment although DH is there with his flashlight and pretty much just stalks the painter from behind as he finishes. So he is making sure it is up to standard. I made a fool of myself this morning though. I pointed out some "little holes" in the cornices in our bedroom to the painter. But when he had a closer inspection he said "they aren't holes, they are fly poo"!!!!! How embarrassing! I felt like such a stupid female. We didn't have too much else on the list - most of it was painting. i think some of the other things were some leaking taps, chips in tiles, sarking that had come off inside the roof and sounded like a "peeling" noice when the wind caught it, scratches in the laminate, door handles with chips in them, silicone missing around some edges etc. ------------------------------------------------------ Handover: 14 December 2010 Current: Putting in plants! What are flies doing pooing on cornices anyway?? I don't think they would survive long enough in our house - as soon as DH sees one, out comes the spray! Re: Building with Dechellis in Magill 419Mar 31, 2011 2:29 pm Another hot tip Annette is to look at your painting in different light. Sometimes you can only see things in the afternoon or morning light and sometimes it doesnt show up until night time. For example, this morning, we couldnt really see the popped nails but they are clearly visible in the afternoon sun that streams down our hallway. The good thing is that you have 3 months to pick these things up. ------------------------------------------------------ Handover: 14 December 2010 Current: Putting in plants! The afternoon sun used to show up every bit of dust in the bathroom in our old house, never mind any marks in the paint!
