Colours appear darker than chosen

Here's the scenario:

Driving up towards my house on the handsfree to "D" in regards to the outstanding issues regarding the house prior to the inspection on Thursday...

We are chatting away and all of a sudden I start chuckling uncontrollably.

"D" wants to know what he has said that was so funny.

I need you to picture me in the drivers seat of my car laughing at my extremely neutral coloured house that looks like this.

Its a very nice shade of purple though!!

The actual colour is as above.

"D" thought it was funny that I thought it was funny (rather than the usual "What the F*ck is going on" I usually start with.

"D" rang the supplier to confirm what colour was supposed to be there....he wasn't suprised when they described the colour as a tan/beige colour...

After a couple of quick phone calls it will be rectified but the humour will remain.

According to my my children BOB will have to paint it a different colour after he comes out of the corner!

Mistakes they happen.
At least you know you have an extra layer of undercoat on that part of the house :wink:

Now how strange is this…..Matt has gone off over the last couple of months, and this he sees as amusing?

I would have taken that as the final slap in the face and the whole neighbourhood would have heard me going off!!!

It’s not even CLOSE! How the hell did they get THAT wrong!

Waite a minute…..back to painters again!!!!

Here’s a good one, while doing our renos, I had 4 very deep colours as my feature walls.

The painter did a GREAT job on my fireplace wall, but after returning from town one day when he had started in my bedroom. I saw the same blue as the feature wall behind my bed.

Not allowed to say what I said to him…..but you can imagine.

“What colour is it suppose to be?” said my painter.

“Well that would be the A4 swatch stuck up on the wall next to it!!!” I replied breathing steam!

How the hell he missed it I have no idea, it was the only bit of colour in the room at the time!!!

Fortunately the deep blue made an excellent undercoat for the deep purple.
After that I didn’t take my eyes off him……this is a man who asked if I mind if he put the fan on in the room to help the paint dry faster…..no problem go right ahead.

He then put up his ladder directly below the fan and climbed up to paint the ceiling!!!!!!

Well…..what can I say here? He then walked around for a week with a chunk out of his forehead.

The painters are back tomorrow and they will be finishing the house up then...

I am sure they will paint this in the next few days :wink:

Matt, so glad you were amused with this one rather than let it get to you! As you said it is getting fixed and wont be an issue! Other than that the house looks great though!! You are obviously excited - your countdown timer is pretty cool!! I wonder if "D" is feeling the pressure yet :wink:

There is a house down at our local marina that has that exact same purple colour, and this horrible lime green sort of colour aswell. Think they were trying to be trendy, tried but failed.
