Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Sep 04, 2010 9:35 pm Hi Everyone, Our kitchen was installed last week, however it is in the wrong white! In our colour selection, it was noted down as "White Gloss" but they have given us "Antique White Gloss". Pic Attached. What should we do? should we ask for it to be changed? or ask for some $ compensation? Has this ever happened to anyone here? Note: The white forms the back part of the kitchen only, the island is in "raisin" Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ MadCow Re: Kitchen in Wrong White, what to do? 2Sep 04, 2010 9:36 pm um.. hold them to the contract unless the product you ordered has been discontinued. Re: Kitchen in Wrong White, what to do? 4Sep 04, 2010 11:00 pm I'd be telling them to replace it for sure. It is a very subtle difference.....but with your wall paint colour....the antique white might come across as being more creamy than the stark white that White Gloss is. Cheers Lou http://take2-customdesigndownslope.blogspot.com 07-10-09 omg they have cut the block 14-05-10 we finally have the keys Re: Kitchen in Wrong White, what to do? 6Sep 04, 2010 11:21 pm definitely make them change it.... you could ask for compensation but at the end of the day are you really going to be happy with it? If the answer is no (which I assume so as you chose antique white) I would make them change it. At the end of the day the compensation that you would likely to get from them woulnt be worth it in the long run. You will have this house and kitchen for a bery long time Re: Kitchen in Wrong White, what to do? 8Sep 05, 2010 12:13 am If you can live with it, do the maths and ask for some compensation. Are you prepared to wait for the replacement? .. Could you do with some $$$ back in your pocket? Weigh it up, if it were me I'd leave it and make a deal maybe ask for a few extras and/or some cash, work the situation to benefit me, but not sour the builder/client relationship. I like the colour, it's soft, subtle and in vogue, but maybe that's not to your liking. Re: Kitchen in Wrong White, what to do? 9Sep 05, 2010 7:16 am I didn't like the sample colour when we were selecting, but looking at this finished product, I really like it! It would be especially nice if you were having a pure white splashback, as you'd have a bit of contrast and not too much white. I think it comes down to 2 things - do you like this and how will it go with your benchtop and splashback colours ? Judging by the pic, it looks quite OK with the benchtop. If it goes well, then I'd be asking them for a please explain / compo (not for a replacement). My signature is distracting people from my wise posts ...
