Some of the glass enclosure are very nice, and almost converts into a sun room, but is very expensive. Cafe Ziptrack blinds are around $3000 fitted. I have not yet seen any other options. That is just my opinion though. I've seen some nicer things in the blind shops... I don't know what material to call them, but it was in black and cream... kind of like a thick fly screen or hession. As I said, IDK what material to call them, but they should block most of what you need to. I'm always in preference of colours that hide things. At my husband bachelor pad we fitted it with bamboo, made it to roll down. They weren't actually made to roll down, it was just cheaper for us to do it that way. You can get them from bunnings (the ones made to roll), if you like that look. Re: Alfresco Enclosures - Cost Effective Options ? 8Feb 28, 2014 5:11 pm I need to dig this thread up as not much were discussed about this. I am looking for a solution to our 6.5 x 5.5m alfresco as well (2 sides need cover). Main purpose is to shield it from rain and cold air in winter. Initially we thought of bifold doors (aluminium frame with glass) but one guy quoted $14,000 which is out of our budget. Next on list is Ziptrack, but then we found out about Accolade Screen which is bifold plastic doors with persplex or PVC panels. We will get a quote soon. Has anyone use Accolade Screen? I'm a bit concerned about its strength against wind, and possible noise too (when windy)? http://www.accoladescreens.com.au Re: Alfresco Enclosures - Cost Effective Options ? 9Feb 28, 2014 5:41 pm hi Nickbose we are going to put the bi-fold doors on the alfresco later ( 3-5 years) when we save the money in the mean time we are going to leave it. i am hoping my husband will just get them in the next 12 months what about getting the white wooden or aluminium shutters? like the ones people have been getting for the inside windows? it maybe a little bit cheaper Re: Alfresco Enclosures - Cost Effective Options ? 10Feb 28, 2014 6:49 pm The point is to shield the alfresco from rain and cold air, but when we want we still can open up the area completely. So plantation shutter is not a choice as they can't be removed or folded into a corner out of sight. Aluminium shutter (roller shutter) would be too much. Both of them are not see-through either. With Ziptrak or Accolade we can see through and we can open the area totally. The decision probably will come down to price. But I want to ask those who already have Accolade screens about noise when it's windy. Re: Alfresco Enclosures - Cost Effective Options ? 11Mar 04, 2014 5:30 pm at the side i have the barbeque and the eco wood slats for the front which is about 6.5m long and faces the pool and has views. i looked into plastic blinds around 4000 then there was the idea of putting a screen door the having plastic type windows again around the 4000 i am still to find the right solution for our alfresco Re: Alfresco Enclosures - Cost Effective Options ? 12Mar 10, 2014 8:46 pm NickBose I need to dig this thread up as not much were discussed about this.
