Do you have an easement that it's built over? If so, were there any problems with getting council approval? If so, were there any problems with getting council approval? The alfresco deck got me thinkin a fair bit trying to work out exactly what to do. I was originally gong to build the deck all the way out to the fence which would have been double in size. The only issue was that there were 3 different levels I would have had to match. Inside floor level, garage floor level and driveway slab level. Now I’m just going to pave between the house and the fence. wife also wants to install a small, very small pool just to add to it Shed, it's as big as I could make. Would have been nicer to be another 3m wide but our tiny blocks don’t allow for it I don’t have an easement on my block so I didn’t have any issues. Only need developer approval and a building permit. On the approval side of things I did have a few issues. When I was buying the block I always had in mind that I wanted to build a shed out the back. I spoke with Delfin and asked if I could build a shed 300mm off the rear boundary. This was of course no problem as they wanted the sale. When it was time to actually get developer approval they said that they would never have approved building a shed 300mm from the fence. This was a blatant lie!!!! They were telling me I have to follow the building envelope which was 2m from the rear fence. With that I could only build a shed 1.5m wide which would be useless!!! I finally got them around subject to neighbour approval which was easy as. So all good now. Except that I could have built the shed further away from the house!!! You have all these grand plans in your head but it doesn't necessarily work with all the elements. bicko123 Shed, it's as big as I could make. Would have been nicer to be another 3m wide but our tiny blocks don’t allow for it You think your block is tiny. Ours is even tinier and we've filled it all up with house. Makes me wonder what they were thinking when they put the sewerage easement inspection opening and ugly electrical box thingy on the smallest block in the street. bicko123 I don’t have an easement on my block so I didn’t have any issues. We've got an easement which we'll be building a shed over. Will probably just use pavers rather than a slab so it can be removed if they need to access the whole easement. They'd better not Grrrr! to Delfin. Re: Bicko’s Rothwell - Shed, deck, blinds, lights 385Mar 17, 2011 10:35 am Looks Good Bicko! We're still trying to figure out how we can do our deck... The quotes I've been getting are about $7-10k. I can see that you've been pretty busy! How's the front garden going? Or does your estate get it included? How'd you go getting your bbq connected to gas and what have you got it sitting on? Really like your entrance pendant too... Re: Bicko’s Rothwell - Shed, deck, blinds, lights 386Mar 17, 2011 9:49 pm Wow bicko you've been very busy Looks like your all settled in now, love the decking. Makes me wonder what they were thinking when they put the sewerage easement inspection opening and ugly electrical box thingy on the smallest block in the street.. yeah ours is one of the bigger blocks but would love to be a bit bigger again. Bit of a bugger with the electricity box. what size shed you want to build? ShelleyB Looks Good Bicko! We're still trying to figure out how we can do our deck... Really like your entrance pendant too... my deck boards sits right on the sliding door brick sill. so it basically the same level as the floor inside. i did a border around my deck which was a lot extra work looks much better. Garden wise, i have got the garden edging and about half of it topsoiled. no plants just yet as i've been busy with other stuff i got carlisle to install a gas outlet for the bbq. its as you dont ever run out of gas. only thing i have to pre heat the plates for longer. the bbq is sitting on a plastic hallway runner. just to protect the deck from fat splatter. Mel hey mel... yep been very busy and there's heaps more to do ... hows your place going? Re: Bicko’s Rothwell - Shed, deck, blinds, lights 389Mar 18, 2011 7:06 am bicko123 what size shed you want to build? We were thinking something like 3 - 4m wide by 1.5m deep. We could go 2m deep but don't want to cramp the yard too much. Our garage is bigger than the standard (ours is 6.5 x 7) and we have quite a lot of shelving so can store a lot of stuff in the garage. How much space did you put between each decking? hi Kratos. i started off using 3mm then thought the space looked too big so i went to a 2mm gap. i just used nails as spacers So I'm just reading up on this ecosystem of lights.
