Not sure if I'm posting this in the right place? Am new to this forum. Need to extend 1950s brick home by adding couple of extra bedrooms, study, and reworking interior lay out. Am looking for an recommendations of architects experienced at this type of work and used to working in Lane Cove area and with the local council. Also any advice on how to go about finding one, what questions to ask etc would be greatly appreciated. I don't even know where to begin. It's very hard to choose an architect unless you know someone who can personally recommend one they have used before. So make sure you ask plenty of questions and ask for references and examples of work. It's all very daunting and exciting at the same time but I suppose you have to start somewhere. In the meanwhile I think I'll go out and plant a few seeds in pots to brighten up our very drab, backyard (60% concrete at present). Watch what they do with your space, architects seem to love wasting space. Watch what selections they want to use…..sometimes you can do the same thing, with a different selection and for half the price!
