Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Our Retreat - New House Build 141Mar 10, 2011 9:20 am Thanks Lucerne, didnt want everyone to think have been sitting around doing nothing , but wanted my DD set up so she wasnt out of routine, she is still studying and needed to be set up. Sooo looking forward to getting the shutters and she is still deciding whether to put up some canvas wall art or painting her bedroom wall with the Dulux Metallic paint in silver. I know what I want to do with the rest of the rooms but have to wait until funds are available. Long weekend this weekend will be painting all the skirting boards where the timber flooring was laid, fun, fun, fun, Site Start: 10th September, 2010 PCI : Friday 27th January, 2011. I meant to mention to you that I love the carpet, you are right it is really easy to vacumn and clean, my DD spilt some liquid foundation, just a little bit about 5cm long strip, just used my usual carpet cleaner on it and it came straight out. I am sick of looking into Keira's room and just seeing a cot! I want PRETTY things!!!! Re: Our Retreat - New House Build 150Apr 12, 2011 10:22 am Long time between posts, we havent done that much but the one thing we have had done is our front decking. My nephew/niece/brother-in-law did it for us and cant believe what a difference it makes, it will be continued down to the footpath down the track. It hasnt been oiled as yet. We also pinched Kek's idea of dropping the door mat down so it sits flush with the decking. Just painting some feature walls in living/dining rooms, not ready for a reveal as yet. http://i854.photobucket.com/albums/ab10 ... 0_2455.jpg http://i854.photobucket.com/albums/ab10 ... 0_2456.jpg http://i854.photobucket.com/albums/ab10 ... 0_2458.jpg http://i854.photobucket.com/albums/ab10 ... 0_2454.jpg Till next time. I hope that size mat never changes! I still do love your brick colour! GORGEOUS. Can't wait for the feature wall reveal! Re: Our Retreat - New House Build 152Apr 19, 2011 11:46 am Hi cooped, thanks for comments, I know about the mat, people have said it to me, I just hope Bunnings keep stocking them. Just received a text to say my shutters are finally here and being delivered tonight, it has been 8 long weeks waiting for them, hopefully the installers can come this week to put them in, will put up some pics when they are installed. So you must be really over the whole 'size of the mat' comments then.. Hahaha Re: Our Retreat - New House Build 154Apr 19, 2011 12:04 pm I am excited, we were told when they measured up they would be here in 4-5 weeks by the sales guy and then when I rang to chase them up after this time was told by the office oh no it takes 6-8 weeks for Shutters as they come from overseas etc etc etc and after paying them 50% deposit we werent going to go elsewhere. We are sooooo over the redishades, fantastic for what they are but not very practical when you want to open windows and doors etc and after being in for 3 months I want my shutters. Plus I have been waiting on them to be installed so I can then have a look at furniture as I need to see the colours first, not that I can afford it yet but I can dream Site Start: 10th September, 2010 PCI : Friday 27th January, 2011. Re: Our Retreat - New House Build 157Apr 28, 2011 10:43 am Shutter pics finally. We went white clear view in the bedrooms except for main bedroom I went with dark brown, all the others are dark brown with rods. Took the installers 3 1/2 hours to install them all and when they left it took me another 4 hours to clean up the mess. For some reason they were extremely dusty and I had to clean them all with a wet cloth to remove all the dust. We have to do a bit of no more gaps around some of the frames as you can see light coming thru, apparently our windows were terrible and not one of them square, so that will be a nice time consuming job to add to the list. I can finally say all the blinds/shutters are now done - yay no more redishades. Re: Our Retreat - New House Build 159Apr 28, 2011 11:12 am Hi mclaren, no the white ones dont have a rod at all and the brown ones do have a rod down the middle. I hate taking the card out of my camera because you have to re-set the date all the time. I've been selling off a lot of my furniture etc on ebay and get lazy setting the date. Yes really pleased with them, particulary the bathrooms which turned out exactly as I was hoping they would when we picked our colours so many moons ago, and now I have realised I only took one shot of them, will edit my post and include the 1 photo I took. I took all the pics at 7am this morning when I forgot to take them last night and it was quite dark, didnt even take one of the side windows to the front door which turned out great, so will take some more pics this weekend in better light.
