Re: Our Retreat - Bricking 45Oct 22, 2010 10:01 pm Our brickies are on day 3 and pretty much done most of the house, just the little bit at the front and the garage to do. Roof tilers came back to do all the pointing. Ducted Heating unit installed and ducting roughed in. Solar Panel for Hot Water Service also installed on the roof. Brickies have to come back to do the window sills and front pillars and then I believe we should be at lock up. I hope now that this stage is done that things dont slow down too much, everyone always says the stages to lock up happen really quickly and then it sloooooooooooooooows right down. This SS seems really on the ball and time will tell I guess. Site Start: 10th September, 2010 PCI : Friday 27th January, 2011. Email from CLO today advising bricking will be completed by the weekend and plastering will start on 4th Nov. Site Start: 10th September, 2010 PCI : Friday 27th January, 2011. Re: Our Retreat - New House Build 50Oct 27, 2010 2:21 pm Thanks Cooped, yes cant wait for plaster. I saw your kitchen when you posted pics I nearly went with Chocolate Pear as well, thought the grain would show up more than it has - I hated making decisions from small samples, I wanted to see a whole sheet - and now I see how well yours has come up - it looks fantastic, you must be rapt with how well it has come up. I ended up going with burnished wood I have seem others on here and it looks really good as well. Cant wait to see ours in. Site Start: 10th September, 2010 PCI : Friday 27th January, 2011. I can't wait to get a closer look at it instead of through a dirty window. Choosing colours for a future home is difficult. So hard to do wen you can't see the finished product right there and then to be able to change things around. Re: Our Retreat - We've been plastered 52Nov 03, 2010 9:37 am Drove past our build this morning and it looks like the plastering has been done, they were inside working so didnt go in, will certainly go in tonight and take some pics, they were quite a way done already at 8.45am so Im guessing they must have worked yesterday (Melb Cup Day). Kitchen will be delivered on Monday 15th. super happy. Also told us that the house will be done mid January, that was the news we needed to hear and we now can put our current home on the market. Been a busy bee today we did all the gardening to get it all looking good, I have been de-cluttering and cleaning inside over the last couple of weeks in anticipation of this news. So fingers crossed we get the price we are after and it sells at auction. Auction date is 16th December. Here are the plastering pics. Re: Our Retreat - New House Build 58Nov 07, 2010 7:10 pm Thanks Barb, everyone I ask says something different, I'm not sure, so I guess will wait until we move in and get garden done. All the cornices are done and site all cleaned of bricks, roof tiles, excess brickie sand, etc. One interesting thing was i asked why they didnt take the plaster offcuts as there was a pile at the front and the SS said that they recycle the plaster offcuts - didnt think of it until later, but I wonder how they recycle plaster Site Start: 10th September, 2010 PCI : Friday 27th January, 2011.
