Browse Forums Building A New House Re: building in Botanic Ridge - we have a slab 83May 09, 2011 9:04 pm Small update - we got a slab today last week, the plumber was on site putting in the pipes, and the foundation work took 2 days, due to the different levels.......but i noticed that there wasn't enough pipes on the bathroom/laundry area....so got DH to call the SS and ask the question....is there a pipe missing? SS said he was on the way to check on the site, so he would have a look and advise......well in less than 2hrs DH had a phone call to say Thank-you, yes there is a pipe missing in the laundry. He said we had saved them potentially a few $, due to that small pick-up.......plumber had to come over the weekend to fix his errors, which meant dismantlying part of the foundation to get the missing pipe in......I rather they do it now, than later!! so, anyway, today they poured the concrete....and SS advised that the framer already wants to start work tomorrow!! SS also advised that we had a 2week delay on our bricks, when DH was initially speaking to him about the missing pipe.....I said i would rather wait the 2weeks than change the colour.....but on the follow-up call from the SS, SS advised that we might be alright....he thinks the bricks will arrive 1-2days after the roof has been completed......makes you think has someone else just had there bricks delayed by 2weeks, so we can get our bricks delivered first, because we saved him a few $$$......if so, sorry to the other house. (will load up photos, as soon as i can get the camera from DH) Re: building in Botanic Ridge - we have a slab 84May 10, 2011 10:27 pm wow....the framer has started work already....we currently have frames for the first level of our home!!! building in Botanic Ridge - we have a slab 85May 11, 2011 7:47 am I would have serious concerns about a frame being erected a day after concrete pour. Should be a minimum of 2 weeks. Re: building in Botanic Ridge - we have a slab 86May 26, 2011 8:46 pm Eve Dweller.......i was a bit concerned, but have been reassured by people at my work (who service this industry) that these days they have curing agents, so able to construct shortly after concrete is laid. anyway, framing took about three days to complete, with the roof trusses going up last tuesday. this week, so far, they have started getting the roof ready for the colourbond sheeting. so, we are hoping to see a roof tomorrow. Re: building in Botanic Ridge - frame up, roof being done no 87Jun 26, 2011 8:40 pm been awhile.....but we have a colorbond roof and blue wrap. we hope this week, we get the bricks delivered......but as we have learnt on this adventure, everything happens when it does...no point hurrying it, as you end up with issues! Re: building in Botanic Ridge - bricks have arrived :) 88Jul 07, 2011 8:53 pm bricks arrived last Friday, and the sand was delivered yesterday.....now we need the brickie to arrive moving along just nicely Re: building in Botanic Ridge - some pics 89Jul 16, 2011 8:39 pm just some pics from foundations to last friday Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: building in Botanic Ridge - some pics 90Jul 16, 2011 9:55 pm congratulations.. Re: building in Botanic Ridge - lock up stage 91Jul 27, 2011 8:34 pm we were advised that this week the house will be locked (bummer, as the windows are dirty both inside and out for spying in LOL) we have the weekend to collect any bricks we want to keep, so mud here we come Re: building in Botanic Ridge - some pics 92Aug 03, 2011 10:23 pm well, went to the block to collect the bricks BUT they had all been cleared off the site....not impressed at all. DH rang SS and asked where were the bricks, and SS response was that were not many goods one there. Thank goodness we had seen the bricks, so DH told SS there were quite a lot of very good bricks, that is why we had organised for us to come over the weekend to collect them. we even said there was the still half a stack at the front...all gone. MMMMM..SS thinks he can get us some from another site...so how many do we need!!! anyway, when we had calmed down....we then noticed that our ducted heating and cooling was being installed.....plus we have been wired.....plus the bath support has been built maybe this weekend, we might have plasterboard on site!! and a locked door Re: building in Botanic Ridge - plasterboard has started 93Aug 17, 2011 10:11 pm plasterboard has arrived and the ceiling is almost complete......we believe by the weekend, that all the walls will be done....and the doors will be locked then again, we might be able to get in the weekend to see what the walls up...crossing out fingers below - the house from over a few streets away....we appear to be the odd one out....very light (or should i say bright) roof!
