McCarthy Homes

Hi there. We're about to sign a contract with McCarthy homes to build us a new house. Does anyone have any experience with this company. I believe they only operate in Qld (Brisbane, particularly). We've seen the display homes and a couple of 'nearly finished' homes and have been quite impressed with the quality and the inclusions.

I've not built with them, but I have been impressed by the quality and I have not heard anything negative about them. They have been around for a long time with nothing negative attached to their name so that is a good sign.

I love their designs - Especially the Cardiff - it's the only one I've seen that will go on our block and has eveything we're looking for!

Now how to get them to build in victoria.... hmmm.... :roll:

Thanks for the feedback. We have just had a look at a couple of places they are in the process of finishing and these look great.

if you're still reading, I am also interested in this builder - though I have not seen their display homes, their designs in particular the 'upstairs living' range is what we've been looking for that other more popular builders don't do, plus they also design on difficult terrain.

We just went to look at their display homes at Thornlands today. Really nicely presented without being over the top (like other displays we've seen). As we're buying/building for the first time we had a million and one questions an the sales rep we dealt with was great. Very helpful and patient with us.

We were most impressed by how upfront he was. Didn't try to hide any details or make any unrealistic promises about build-time etc.

We been looking at builders for a while now, and we have been most impressed wit them so far.

In saying all this, it seems that most people don't have any issues with their builders until they actually start building!

Please keep us posted if you do decide to build with them.
