Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Aug 22, 2010 9:49 am Hi Guys After a bit of urgent help We recentley had our 12 month maintenance inspection with PD - It was about a month ago they came out and made a list of our problems and they have fixed all but one of the issues which we are still in communications with them about. Just today I found water in our ceiling - again related to a problem with the bath (as it is directly below that area) which they "fixed" at our 6 month maintenace. Obviously they didn't fix it properly and I have since found our bathroom vanity has swollen at the bottom (water damage) and some grout is falling away in our floor tiles near that vanity and also when I had the guys out to colour seal my grout they found the seal wouldn't stick/dry at a certain area near our bath which they think indicated a leak/water in the area. I'm wondering if PD is still responsible for this given I didn't address this issue at the 12 month inspection. How long is their warranty? I though it was only 12 months and part of me feels like this is going to now be my issue to rectify....please someone tell me I am wrong and it is their fault!! My karma ran over your dogma Re: Porter Davis Maintenance Question 2Aug 22, 2010 10:51 am haywgl Hi Guys After a bit of urgent help We recentley had our 12 month maintenance inspection with PD - It was about a month ago they came out and made a list of our problems and they have fixed all but one of the issues which we are still in communications with them about. Whatever they say, they must guarantee their repairs for the 12 months starting again. I still haven't signed off on the 12-month list, as they need to come back and repaint our ensuite, which was done very badly after some minor plaster rectifications (nail pops and the like). I've been after them to do it since March (and our 12 months was up last November). They happily admit it's their problem and that they'll fix it, but pinning them down to actually do it is a whole other thing. Another phone call coming up tomorrow. Your issue is far more major and has to be attended to, pronto. Re: Porter Davis Maintenance Question 5Sep 01, 2010 5:05 pm Hi haywgyl, I'm sorry to hear that you have had some issues with maintenance, have you contacted your New Home care Coordinator or CSA? I would suggest doing that if you haven't already, arrange a site meeting and inspection to discuss any issues and plans for resolution. As part of our guarantee, we have a 7 year structural warranty, so any issues that are structural are covered by this warranty. If you have any further concerns you can contact your New Home Care Coordinator to discuss it. Otherwise you can send me a private message with your details (phone or email) and we can contact you directly. I hope that helps! Cheers Jess Porter Davis Homes Questions? Sincerely, Anonymous Re: Porter Davis Maintenance Question 7Sep 01, 2010 7:47 pm Sorry should have updated this thread....had the maintenance guys out and they found the problem - a faulty mixer which has been dripping!! Anyway they were fantastic about it - ordered a new mixer, will then replace it and re-grout/seal my bath tiles which have been damaged as a result. Great to have a PD rep on board here, may help other members with similar problems My karma ran over your dogma Re: Porter Davis Maintenance Question 8Sep 01, 2010 8:03 pm I gave up on my unfinished 3 month maintenance 18 months ago. It was worth it to not deal with that company ever again. Service usually begins with being able to answer a phone or pass on a message or actually have tradesmen turn up after the third try. I was told after sale service was their strong point but I think total abandonment is a more accurate description. I hate to sound negative but I find it highly amusing that PD would put a rep on H1 when they can't seem to offer reliable service by any conventional means.
