Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Aug 20, 2010 1:46 pm Has anyone recently built or building with Boutique homes in the northern suburbs of Melbourne. We are currently looking at the Sanctuary 25 with some alterations and was wondering if anyone could give us some advice on Boutique. They don't have promotions like other builders and we are trying to work out whether to go with them or some other builder that does. I guess you could say we are trying to build the house we want at the price we want with the inclusions we want and seem to be having trouble picking a builder. Re: Boutique Homes 2Aug 20, 2010 5:22 pm I am currently talking to them also ulee. I believe they are a Perth company who has only opened in Melbourne recently. When I first spoke with them in Dec 09, they were very keen to get the business because they were new. Have restarted discussions briefly with them again today so will let you know my feelings hwne I get a little more info from them about my project Re: Boutique Homes 4Aug 21, 2010 10:41 am They have been around for quite a few years as Boutique, but were recently bought out by the same company that owns Dale Alcock in Perth. We were going to build with them, but they stuffed us around so much that we walked away. In saying that though, it was during the transitional phase of their takeover and staff turnover was very high. Most of the original Boutique staff were gone. They seemed to be in complete disarray most of the time. As Boutique they were very flexible with floorplans and flexible with anything really, once taken over that flexibilty seemed to evaporate overnight. I am not sure what their operations are like now, I would expect now that the change of ownership/management is complete, their procedures operate more smoothly. I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Re: Boutique Homes 5Aug 25, 2010 2:02 pm We are building with Boutique and are nearly finished. Just waiting for it to stop raining so they can do the tiles to the facade, paint the render and do the driveway. It keeps on raining though! We have been extremely happy with Boutique, right from day one with our sales consultant through to the colour consultant and now our client liason and site superviser. The build has been very fast, our slab was poured in April and we should hopefully be in by the end of September (provided it stops raining!) From my experience, I would recommend Boutique to anyone. -------------------------------------- Building Sanctuary with Boutique Homes Williams Landing Re: Boutique Homes 6Aug 25, 2010 2:45 pm We are currently building with them as well, but one of the HBC designs, sales guy was great and moved to get answers etc really quickly, and as the others have said they changed ownership and I think high staff turnover, the old Boutique people obviously took their experience with them and they seem to have replaced them with inexperienced people, because after we signed contract/colour appt back in March 10, wanted to have everything ready to go when land titled in early May, then the wheels have fallen off. They have left everything until the last minute to check things and luckly they did check because a lot of changes had to be made due to house being too big for block and not right setbacks, getting approvals from Water Authority to build over easement - all of these things take weeks to get done, we have only now just moved to Construction phase and am awaiting email from them as to when we can get a site start. I do not know what the quality of their build is I can only go off two other members on here Tuned86 and Roxy who has already posted, they seem happy with the quality of the build. So in my opinion their administration needs some serious fixing. They dont seem to do Promotions like the others, but I found their prices cheaper than other builders and when you get prices from other builders of the extra items it all adds up to big $$$. Their upgrade prices seemed reasonable. You mention Northern suburbs we are building in South Morang, they have opened two new display homes in Plenty River Estate in Doreen, have you seen them? I know this is a new house, so there won't be much discussion on it. However, would like to know whether to proceed with Boutique Homes or consider other builders. Your input would be much appreciated. Re: Boutique Homes 8Oct 01, 2012 11:15 am Lazy Pig We are looking at Boutique Homes Marseille 33. Hi Lazy Pig, I can only say from my own experience that we were really happy with Boutique/HBC, the build went really smoothly, when we built it was still the busy time and our house was ready in 5 months. My only critisicm was the admin was a bit slow for my liking, but found out that they moved offices at the time and that was the cause of the delay. All the staff that I dealt with right thru the build were good, we had two SS during the build and both were great guys. Still check out other builders though, because promotions can make a lot of difference to the end $$$. You can check out my building thread, all the ups and downs (and there are many of those with any build) ar in there. Wishing you all the best.
