Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Aug 19, 2010 9:38 pm Hi Guys, Nathan from Budde Design did these up for us for our new house we're building. Let me know what you think or if you can think of another colour scheme or other things to try. We are looking for that modern country look!
Look forward to hearing your opinions! http://a.imageshack.us/img534/7210/woodlandgreyroof.jpg http://a.imageshack.us/img832/828/surfmistroof.jpg http://a.imageshack.us/img195/2143/surfmistroof2.jpg ( have added this also down lower with description why hubby likes it) Re: Please let me know what you think of the colour schemes 2Aug 19, 2010 9:56 pm Just quickly - baby to feed Love love love your house - simply stunning!!! For me it is the woodland grey one - just beautiful.... And Nathan well done yet again. Some things are worth waiting for. Re: Please let me know what you think of the colour schemes 6Aug 19, 2010 11:58 pm I like the woodland grey too:) my new build thread- Ben Trager https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=89826 my switch build thread (2011) https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=36569 Re: Please let me know what you think of the colour schemes 7Aug 20, 2010 12:58 am Woodland Grey also has my vote. Sincerely, Anonymous Re: Please let me know what you think of the colour schemes 8Aug 20, 2010 1:03 am woodland grey My build thread:https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=24870 Re: Please let me know what you think of the colour schemes 9Aug 20, 2010 8:15 am I have to go with Woodland Grey too. Looking forward to seeing the floorplan. Re: Please let me know what you think of the colour schemes 10Aug 20, 2010 10:23 am Definately Woodland Grey! Re: Please let me know what you think of the colour schemes 11Aug 20, 2010 10:28 am Can I ask where you are building? That will decide my vote. I wouldn't want Woodland Grey if you are somewhere where heat is an issue. I think they both look great though. I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Re: Please let me know what you think of the colour schemes 12Aug 20, 2010 1:01 pm Yeah Joles, the heat is going to be a big issue with us. We are in the Mallee, SA. Just as a guide last summer temps reached at least 46 degrees and that was in the shade of the verandah. Where we are building has small trees and it is going to take quite a number of years to get them going, but this house is not only for us but for the future generation that want to take over the family farm. For this reason we are leaning towards the surfmist but it just doesn't have the same appeal for some reason as the woodland grey, not sure what to do Thank you thank you thank you for all your comments. I just love the woodland grey too but am wondering if there is a roof colour that would be a happy medium between the surfmist and woodland grey. Any suggestions. Re: Please let me know what you think of the colour schemes 13Aug 20, 2010 1:06 pm I'm a fan of Surfmist (using on our own house) so I'm biased! And knowing how hot the Mallee gets, I'd be going as light as possible! Re: Please let me know what you think of the colour schemes 15Aug 20, 2010 4:13 pm ^^^ As above.... Dune, Shale Grey or Evening Haze? I'd go Evening Haze, but I'm biased because I love it and have it at my house. I think you'd be crazy to go Woodland Grey in the Mallee. I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Re: Please let me know what you think of the colour schemes 17Aug 20, 2010 4:49 pm love the woodland grey too Caz & Co ALL MOVED IN!! Now comes all the hard work-decorating.... [b]Blog: http://cazoraz.blogspot.com/ Settling in Thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=36993 So it's down to 2 colour schemes - would love your opinions! 18Sep 03, 2010 11:48 am We have got it down to 2 different colour schemes we like, so hard to choose which one to go with. Please let us know what you think. Remember that the house will sit up on a rocky ridge overlooking our farm. We won't be able to have too many big trees around, garden will pretty much be how Nathan has done it in the pictures. http://a.imageshack.us/img413/9215/sample6f.jpg http://a.imageshack.us/img195/2143/surfmistroof2.jpg The first image is using a bushland colorbond roof and the second is the surfmist roof. Also with the Bushland we have used Dulux Soft Chamois render and with the surfmist we have used Sandbank Render. I am more for the bushland and hubby likes the surfmist but we both like the Soft Chamois Render. If anyone has any pictures with a rendered house and a bushland or surfmist roof we would love to see them. Which ever we all like it's safe to say Nathan has done an awesome job! Cheers in advance for your input, much appreciated. Re: Please let me know what you think of the colour schemes 19Sep 03, 2010 12:11 pm I'm with you on the bushland roof although I'd probably use it with the other render (just to confuse things further. But the house looks stunning whichever colour scheme you go for! I ended up changing my own clour scheme 3 times.... There is a photo on about page 98 of my thread if you want to have a look Nitch-we have also used White Birch windows which are really close to the Surfmist-no bricks up yet though...
