Just been informed that we now require a stormwater retention pit & pump, and as such, construction has been halted. Farrrrrrk. Going down to coucil tomorrow morning and trying to figure out what to do. You see, our street is sloped, we are on the low side with an easement at the back. The top side of the street just runs the stormwater to the street, which runs to the next street where the stormwater drain is (two streets away). There are no other houses conecting to the street from our side - which means their pipes run to 'something' that's not indicated on council plans at the back of the blocks (barrel pit maybe?). I pay my rates just as much as my neighbours - why, WHY am I the only one on the street required to have a bloody expensive pit and pump! ANGRY PANTS ARE ON AND LOADED!!!!!!!!! Is the storm water pit and pump required by Clarendon or direct from the council? I hope they come up with a solution really quick. Re: Our Oxford 28 with Cl@rndn - Vic - HEEEEEEEEEELP! 135Jan 14, 2011 12:28 pm Well, some good news... we found a stormwater pipe ;o) Now we have to pay $1000 though to send a camera down it to make sure it's working. Eh. Still better than the other option... NOTE TO SELF: deciding to investigate the site last night, in the POURING rain, on a heavy clay site, in heels.... was NOT such a great idea. After deciding I didn't want to wreck my lovely black patent pumps, bare feet on a slippery building side = 2 stiches in my little toe.....damn you broken terracotta pipes!!!!!!! Came home to my poor cat crying in pain, she'd gotten into a fight and now has a pussy-cat 0zzy absys on her back leg... off to the Vet's tonight.... and the zipper on my jeans broke this morning.... We are building the newest design, Terracedale with Clar#$#$. so far its been good, cant say a great experience. But I just convince myself that surprises are going to be with every builder. Clar%^$ have been good to me so far in terms of flexibility. I am kinda going on my third color selection this Thursday..hehe..few more changes I didnt pick up last time. My land settles in March ( hopefully..fingers crossed) ..cant wait to get things going..hoping no surprises in terms of rocks .. btw, I like your floor plan. I am pretty sure you know this, but they have your display at Saltwater Coast in Point Cook. Been there yet?? Cheers Re: Our Oxford 28 with Cl@rndn - Vic - Note to Self 138Jan 17, 2011 7:25 pm Hey Raj!!! Thanks for the post! Yeh, I mirror your opinion of Clarendon. I'm not unhappy, but things haven't gone as smoothly as I would have hoped, but that's part in parcel of a building journey!! I really like our CSR though and although i'm yet to hear from a SS, we've spoken to the Construction Manager who's great. I'll have to jump on your thread and have a look too! We were out at Craigieburn on the weekend looking at a Burbank home, as it's the closest I have found to our floor plan. Our floor plan has just been released too, there are currently no displays of it - as such our builders have told us there are a few people itching for our house to start so they can have a walk through. We bought the plan thru the saltwater office - pretty sure there isn't an Oxford built yet? Yep, you heard me. I love him. And I love our drainer, too. Despite the $1000 bill I just got. THEY PROOVED TO COUNCIL THAT COUNCIL INSTALLED THE PIPES 40 YEARS AGO. What a bunch of *******.
