Looks like you won't have much traffic driving by for a while Sizz View Thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=35699 Building with Aaron J Homes - Sahara 25 Land Settled: 11/6/10, Site Start: 26/11/10 - HANDOVER NOT TOO FAR AWAY!!! Re: Our custom build in Devonia Park Pakenham 422Mar 18, 2011 3:00 pm Yes, was very excited to see that was prepared. Not so excited about the fact that it's not as wide as it should be I rang the concreter and he's on to it and it will be fixed before pouring. We've gone right to the boundary and a little wider than the crossover on the other side. We're also having a path across the front with a small garden in front of the windows and another path up the side from the footpath to just past the meter and data boxes. They haven't dug that out as yet. They've poured the portico and alfresco slabs and they have to be tiled before the driveway gets done. Hopefully the tiling will be done on Monday as they said yesterday that we are a week away. Very nice that the street isn't a through road any more. And no point anyone going out that way when it opens up unless they want to head left on Henry Road as they'll have a long way to go before they can do a u turn. Will make it a lot quieter. Off to look at your thread. Re: Our custom build in Devonia Park Pakenham 423Mar 22, 2011 8:29 pm Did the tiling happen yet Catjim? I haven't been by to see? When is the move in date? Can't be far off at all! Sizz View Thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=35699 Building with Aaron J Homes - Sahara 25 Land Settled: 11/6/10, Site Start: 26/11/10 - HANDOVER NOT TOO FAR AWAY!!! Re: Our custom build in Devonia Park Pakenham 424Mar 22, 2011 8:39 pm Hadn't happened yesterday when we went by for a look. The plumber had been there though and we have a sink & trough that we can see. Can also make out a bath spout so some things have happened in the bathroom. Can't see any more than that.\ No date has been advised as yet. They are now 8 days out of contract but we don't want them to just rush through and stuff things up. Re: Our custom build in Devonia Park Pakenham 425Mar 25, 2011 10:17 am Getting closer...Any news yet? I love your last lot of photos- the paint colour has come up really nicely! Re: Our custom build in Devonia Park Pakenham 426Mar 25, 2011 11:18 am So close but yet so far Have just been over there to find no one there when I first arrived. I'd almost finished doing the tour of the nasty locked doors and I turned the last corner and two men were standing out the front. They were there to fix the debarcle of our reticulated termite pipes. Turns out the apprentice did them on his own. They were too far up the wall with all sorts of funny bends around some corners. We had complained and the concreter that did our portico and alfresco slabs had also complained and sent photos to the builder saying 'this is bulls#$t, absolute bulls#$t' The concreter had lowered the ones where the concrete was to go and they are being fixed now. The plumber has been there putting in the basins, toilets etc and hopefully he comes back at some stage today to finish off. Was a bit disappointed not to find him there when I arrived. Apart from the plumbing stuff and the driveway there's not really much apart from paint touchups etc. Glad you like the paint colour, Miss. We're very happy with it. Re: Our custom build in Devonia Park Pakenham 427Mar 29, 2011 4:25 pm Just had a call from the concreter to say that he's pouring our driveway tomorrow and would like to meet us there in the morning to make sure that everything is where we want it. Woohoo! I think we must be almost there. Re: Our custom build in Devonia Park Pakenham 428Mar 29, 2011 5:15 pm Great news!! Fingers crossed that it goes well!! Re: Our custom build in Devonia Park Pakenham 430Mar 30, 2011 9:35 pm I vaguely saw your DRIVEWAY today Catjim!! As I was driving past this evening. Thank God we are nearly in, considering after-work visits would soon be pointless with daylight savings coming to an end. Can you hear the sound of jingling keys yet?? I hope EVERYTHING is finally in order. Sizz View Thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=35699 Building with Aaron J Homes - Sahara 25 Land Settled: 11/6/10, Site Start: 26/11/10 - HANDOVER NOT TOO FAR AWAY!!! I hope EVERYTHING is finally in order. It's still a work in progress at the moment as we're having exposed aggregate. The top will be hosed off tomorrow morning but I won't get to see it until Friday........ ..............when we have PCI!!!!! Will find out a date for handover then which might be the end of next week but when I asked whether I should keep the appt we have for the dishwasher installation on Sat 9 April he suggested that I make it the week after. So we'll be up at the crack of dawn as we have to be at the house at 7am but it's been a long time coming. Re: Our custom build in Devonia Park Pakenham 432Apr 01, 2011 3:43 pm So, we had PCI this morning. A reasonably long list of things to be done but they are mainly just fiddly things like the usual paint touchups etc and a couple of power points that were missed. They were doing a final site cleanup when we left and it was looking a whole heap better. The driveway is finished apart from the expansion gaps which will be cut tomorrow. Looks fantastic. Really pleased with the way it's turned out. Sorry, forgot to take pics Handover might be the end of next week if the bank gets themselves into gear and inspects and the certificate of occupancy is granted on time. Re: Our custom build in Devonia Park Pakenham 433Apr 01, 2011 5:47 pm I would love to see a pic. Hope it all goes well - good luck with the move! Re: Our custom build in Devonia Park Pakenham 434Apr 01, 2011 6:03 pm Thanks disappointed. Will put up some new pics once the paint touchups have been done. Sick to death of seeing the unpainted bulkheads and side wall of the TV alcove that was straightened up. A lot of the stuff done recently isn't really obvious in pics. Have you ordered your new carpet? Re: Our custom build in Devonia Park Pakenham 435Apr 01, 2011 7:08 pm Had to provide two carpet quotes to VCAT -the quotes were done some time ago though. So we'll just go with the cheapest of those two and hope the price is roughly the same. We have a another baby on the way, so we're pretty keen to get it replaced ASAP. Glad to hear your house is still standing. They did next door's maintenance stuff reasonably quickly although they were late putting in the list. Really, they have been quite good and we don't have many complaints. The weather wasn't all that kind to us in the beginning so that has put us back a fair bit. We are set for PCI TOMORROW!!!! Can't wait!! Spoke to the SS before and he's working hard to get us in by the end of the week. Not too fussed if it gets put back to Monday or Tuesday but not any later than that. Good luck tomorrow. Re: Our custom build in Devonia Park Pakenham 440Apr 06, 2011 1:17 pm Barring disasters..............HANDOVER TOMORROW!! OMG! I'd get the gutters to match your roof and pipes to match the paint - otherwise they become a feature. Nice pick with the paint colours! 1 26303 6 43115 Thanks NativeZen! I can't wait to start landscaping, though it's going to be a while away yet. No movement on site yet as of the weekend. Hoping to see some earthworks… 3 2160 |
