Didn't get a chance to catch up but maybe next time. House is taking forever. Only good thing is that front garden has to be done within six months of certificate of occupancy to be able to get landscaping rebate and at least I will be able to get bareroot roses and trees within that period. Much greater choice of roses then. Starting to plan already.... It's crazy how you have to justify everything. Received list from insurance covering items rejected, items classed as defective to be corrected and items incomplete to be done. List of rejected items included retaining wall not done as per plan (but will review if part of building permit if I submit a copy). They have the permit but sending it again. The carpet layer did a crap job and the tacks are exposed where carpet is fixed along edges. Building insurance claim they will do the main traffic areas only. Walk in the wrong spot in bare feet and it will draw blood.... The two fans in the alfresco do not operate independently and have no speed control. They say this was not documented to operate independently and on speed controls even though all other fans are done properly. Tried to argue weather seals on external doors and front entry not required as not on plans. Look at energy efficiency area where it is included on plans. Other items mentioned to inspector missing from report altogether such as remotes for garage door not provided. Hopefully they will see reason on some of the issues. If not it will be off to VCAT next to object to some items. Still need to email them about some of the other issues that were missed and will try to get onto that today. Been busy the last few weeks as one of my kittens got really sick. After many trips to the vet, different treatments one of the vets diagnosed the kitten as having FIP and he had to be put down on Monday. So sad but tried everything including force feeding but he was too ill and the diagnosis was a terminal one. Now on to pet insurance to try out their claims process.... Other kitten (the brother) is fretting and missing his buddy... We have moved in nearly 4 months now. The work is mostly satisfactory. The work that has the worst quality is the tiling, you can see unlevelled tiles here and there, bigger than should be grout gaps on the floor here and there. But it is still a pain that my builder does not answer my calls or emails regarding maintenance work. Worst of all my home cinema still has not been installed. As advised by my builder home cinema would only be installed after hand-over to avoid being stolen. guess I have trusted my builder too much. Should have deducted some money from the final payment for home cinema until it is installed. This builder seems to only respond to urgent repairs, like toilet or bathroom leakage, but ignore my request for home cinema installation and other maintenance work. I have some 16 items on the list to be completed. I have done a company search on ASIC database, their business seems to be as usual. So not sure what is on their card. I will post the list to the builder and contact building commission or consumer affair if not actioned. Will keep you posted. Re: NBG Blaxland 200E - Builders gone bust..... 676Feb 12, 2013 12:51 pm guess what, the builder finally passed on the letter of his business consultant saying they are going liquidation, advises home owners to claim through insurance company. But I rang the insurance company, was told since the company is still registered, I will have to wait until the company goes insolvent. The letter was prepared early in January 2013. So the builder has been trying to hide their situation and delayed payment to the home cinema. Re: NBG Blaxland 200E - Builders gone bust..... 677Feb 13, 2013 7:23 am I think you have already registered with ASIC for notices lodged by the company. I would start downloading the insurance paperwork and start getting the claim ready so it can be submitted as soon as the notice is lodged. You need to go through the house and list everything. Home cinema pack, anything you are not happy with such as the tiling. Also need to show cinema pack was part of the contract. If other things you are not happy with but builder refused to fix, may be worthwhile getting an independent inspection report so you know what to fight for. Good luck. Yes I have registered for alert on ASIC web site. I aml also getting New Home Inspection to do a maintenance inspection. Now I am feeling so angry that the builder took the final payment cheque but deliberately did not even pay the installer for our home cinema installation. ****** after ******, this is what he called extended holiday. It sounded to me that they had a busy successful last year, had 40 something projects from National Builders in the last two years. Until I am notified by the liquidator, It's hard to believe that the builder is going liquidation. Re: NBG Blaxland 200E - Builders gone bust..... 679Feb 25, 2013 2:59 pm I hope everything works out for you.... Been a horrible day today. My other kitten was taken to the vet this morning with trouble breathing. Xray showed fluid in the lungs and the vet drained it. Diagnosis was FIP the same as his brother. So had to have the kitten put down as it is terminal. So both kittens have had to be put down before 5 months of age On the house front it looks like I will be submitting application to VCAT as VMIA are refusing to fix some items and redo the retaining fence. Going to drag on even longer...
