Might be quicker than the insurance company. The liquidators builder has not bothered to contact me at all. I expect I am going to be in the cant be helped bucket. i did costings to finish the work on our place and its around $114k and given final payment is around 40k they are not even going to look at me, and that is before you actually start to look at the defects, of which I am finding more all the time. Water points not put into the roof for the airconditioning, despite the fact its on the plan. electrical cables not run for powerpoints in the roof, the list goes on. On a positive note we started the electrical fitout on the weekend and hopefully we will have power connected by next weekend. I have started the painstaking process of cleaning the place thoroughly. It is going to take awhile, every windows is covered in mortor that needs to be cleaned off, all the plastic on the doors etc has been there so long it wont even peel off. We did get all the site rubbish into the second skip so the place looks more or less tidy outside now. I did have the guy up on the weekend to quote for the shower screens and splashbacks and he had a colour sample kit, and I ended up going for a much darker shade of red than the one NBG had to offer, which will look alot better. Things are moving along which is more than I can say for what was happenning with my builder. Just had my Internet connected at the new house. Only had mobile Internet with limited data so limited Internet to Emails and basic search. You got me almost in tears to see what you have gone through. I hope this nightmare ends for you very very soon. Re: NBG Blaxland 200E - Builders gone bust..... 647Nov 27, 2012 5:59 pm Now waiting on building insurance to respond to claim after I sent them additional info they had requested. Builder working for liquidator quoted more than my final payment to finish and that didn't include freestanding oven, dishwasher, rangehood, scratched windows that inspector said needed to be replaced. Quote included steam cleaning of carpets but I'm not really sure steam cleaning will remove paint... Back to waiting again....... I rang the liquidators and said I was more than willing to pay the final invoice if he would finish my house and give me the certificate of occupancy. The cost to finish my house is more than the final payment so I assume I will receive a letter from liquidators terminating the contract as they won't be able to make any money from it. I just want to move in. My kittens arrive Dec 28 and I was hoping to be in by then. Looks like they will have to be unsettled with a move. I have to do my front landscaping with 6 months of getting certificate of occupancy to get $3000 landscaping rebate back. At least it looks like I will be able to get bare root roses within the timeframe. I am luckier than others in that I am back living with my folks and at least I don't have to worry about rentals and leases. There are others worse off than me such as Colerain. My heart is with you. I wish you and everyone else in this forum a Merry Christmas and a Better, Happy 2013! Re: NBG Blaxland 200E - Fed up with my builders 656Dec 24, 2012 12:23 pm iBA They are totally cute!!! We have finally moved in. But this builder has turned into someone I don't know any more. We have found a few problems, emailed him, called him but he is not returning my emails or answering my calls, even for things he promised he would come back to fix and he has no sign of showing up. Feels like I don't exist anymore. So my advice is that don't leave anything needs to be fixed after hand-over. It could be a totally different story before and after hand-over. P.S Would you mind PM me who your builder is? Thanks. A Update to my post 2 months ago. I think I will start a new thread in the new year with title "NBG Buckingham 360E - My builder Disappeared". Sorry Michelle to hijack your thread. after wait patiently for 2 and half months, made a number of calls and text messages to the builder, the builder simply ignores me. I emailed a list of defects that needs attention and ask for a date to meet after the new year for 3 months maintenance inspection and for works need to be done before we can add more tiles to the wall and Ante, got no answer. I drove passed the buidler's office last Thursday, the office is closed. Now I am wondering if my builder is still in business. Re: NBG Blaxland 200E - Builders gone bust..... 657Jan 04, 2013 6:09 pm Hi IBA, I am sorry you are having troubles too. My builder was Manbuilt Projects in Epping and they went into liquidation in early November. If the builder office has closed then I would be searching the asic website at http://www.asic.gov.au Do a search on the company name to get the company number or it should be on one of your invoices. You can search to see if company has lodged any documents about address changes of registered company. You can also search liquidation notices to see if they have gone into liquidation, when and the liquidator appointed. If you find nothing then setup an alert for the company number so you are notified by email whenever a document is lodged. If no luck on Asic try the building commission to see if they can give you any information on the builder. If the builder has disappeared and cannot be contacted then if you can get them classed as having disappeared you can then lodge a claim through building insurance. Good luck and keep me posted. No issues with the hijacking of thread. Not much happening here anyway.... I shall try those to better prepare for the worst that could happen. You have so much trouble yourself to deal with but are so kind to help me out. I really appreciate that. Hope things are getting through smoothly for you in the New Year. Re: NBG Blaxland 200E - Builders gone bust..... 660Jan 08, 2013 1:44 pm Hi Michelle, The builder finally returned my email and saying they are taking an extended holiday and have not decided when they will be back to work and definitely not be back in January. So guess I just have to hang in there and wait??? This is first email I received from the builder since handover. Well to be honest, I don't mind waiting. but the builder should have the decency to keep me posted on what is going on, keep the communication going, not just ignoring my phone calls and emails. This is very disappointing. So I did a search on asic business registers but could not find anything. Rang the building commission, the guy suggested me to put the list into a registered mail and post to the builder. If the mail returns to me, then it might be an indication that the builder has moved. I would never build with Fowler homes. I built with them in 2021 and till date maintenance issues are pending.
