Their *fix* was shocking and it still bothers me to this day (10 years later). They put a pipe in the doorway of the second bedroom and *fixed* it by leaving a big hole under the carpet that I trip in nearly every day. They also put a pipe in the middle of the rumpus room. Their *fix* for that one was to remove the pipe and then leave a lump of concrete on top of it, so there is a big bump under the carpet. We were naive and had a nightmare build (builders went bankrupt during the build and we had to find new builders to finish) and when the two years was up we were just happy to move in. There were loads of little problems, most of which they said were *normal* and weren't their responsibility to fix. Knowing what we know now, we'd be sticking to our guns to get it perfect before we hand over the money. Good luck, I hope they fix it to your liking. ~ Sarah ~ First build was a nightmare, why are we considering a second build?! Plans on hold for a few years, doesn't mean I can't look. A lot! Re: NBG Blaxland 200E - Slab completed!! 232Nov 13, 2011 9:38 pm Wow, what a horrible experience you had with your build. Will wait and see what they do to fix the issue. I told them I was getting independent inspections done throughout the build. If the fix is not acceptable then it will be picked up by the inspector at the frame stage inspection. I can the first to say CONSLABULATIONS Try not to worry about your pipes until you've checked. We were pretty sure pipes were incorrect in a couple of places but turned out they were fine! Hope it's all good and thimgs rocket along from here! Re: NBG Blaxland 200E - Slab completed!! 234Nov 14, 2011 9:36 am They definitely appear to be in the wrong spot. I have phoned my site supervisor this morning about it, and sent him some photos so he can see what I am talking about. The laundry is just off the garage and as there is a step down it is obvious where the laundry is and it looks wrong to me. How did you go speaking to the supervisor Michelle? Our vanity pipe was wrong and so they cut the concrete and then moved it to the correct position and then concrete or mud it back again. I hope everything will go according to plan for you. Getting concerned about the reports of my builder on some of the other threads. Will have to hope that the same tradies that did the poor work on the other builders are not working on my home. The frame is supposed to be getting delivered on Monday. I really hope you get the brickies that we did. The normal guys dont like travelling (so I guess I was lucky and hopefully you will be too) I got a different crew, although smaller did a superb job on our house. really not a brick out of place, everything is even, we dont have gaps above doors and windows like alot of people, so hopefully you get those two going to your place as well. Our plumbing was done, just the pipes that needed to be moved in the house to be done. Electrics to be done next week and today outside plumber was there to go through where we wanted the septic tank installed. He is coming on Monday and seemed to be right across what needed to be done with the downpipes Building NBG Buckingham 46 on Property in rural Victoria my Building Thread viewtopic.php?f=31&t=46837 Re: NBG Blaxland 200E - Slab completed!! 240Nov 24, 2011 5:38 pm Small update.....
