There's no wasted space and gives you the best of everything. Who is your builder? We are building a downsizer and looked at a lot of plans similar to yours. We chose cream brick and classic cream rendered quoins also. We've only had our slab poured so we're certainly behind you. I'm looking forward to having a green door also. Good luck with your build. Handover February 2011 Happy with our home Re: Ednurse wants home finished STAT..Wanna move STAT.. 23Sep 01, 2010 12:31 pm Hi Robinred55 congrats on your slab!! We are building with Sterling Homes. Originally we would have liked the same as TigerStripedTeapot however the house would have taken almost all the block and we wanted some rear garden space for kids and BBQ's and things. We mentioned this to Sterling and the sales guy pulled this plan out of one of his folders and asked what we thought. Needless to say we were happy!! It is not a huge or very formal house but it will be our home, a relaxed and comfortable environment to share our lives with our friends and family in. We are renting a housing trust house at the moment and if anyone has ever seen inside one of these it is like living in a shoe box!! I cant wait to move on and have room to move. My kids are so happy because their new bedrooms are the size of the loungeroom we have currently and they will be able to have friends sleep over. My husband and I have been waiting for this time to come for so long it is allmost surreal. My Huband doesnt find it as surreal as I do cos he basically left home and moved in with me when we got engaged. When I left home, many moons ago, I was living in a womens shelter in the city. I remember thinking, why cant i have a home like other people? Over the next few years i moved from rental to rental, trying to find my feet and start my life over. This shoe -box we are in now provided the stability I needed and for that I am forever thankful to the housing trust. However, now it is time for us to move on, our lives have changed and grown in the years we have been married and we are ready for the next phase of our lives. Well here we are a few grey hairs and in debt with the bank!! But we will finally have a home and I cant wait to share it with everyone!! Enough of me waffling, take care everyone and have a great Wednesday Cheers Ednurse Re: Ednurse wants home finished STAT..Wanna move STAT.. 24Sep 01, 2010 2:53 pm Awwwww honey-bravo!!!!!! Nothing happening and no chance of any building progress with this weather. I do suffer a bit from SAD. Thanks for sharing your story. It's a great story and warms the heart. It reminds me of the verse "there's a time for every season". It's you and your family's time. Handover February 2011 Happy with our home Re: Ednurse wants home finished STAT..Wanna move STAT.. 29Sep 04, 2010 8:38 pm hiya Robinred, thankyou so very much your kind words warmed my heart!! This weather, as much as we need the rain, does put a dampner on the progress of ones build!! Whoever has planned this much rain at this time needs a good talking to!! I am keeping my fingers crossed for you robinred this rain doesnt last much longer and the work can pick up some pace at your place. http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_fhM-R45a44g/SgxFW5norUI/AAAAAAAACGw/wZ-Kg2vdN70/s400/1+a+a+a+a+a+a+a++a+a+a+a+a+a+a+a+a+a+a+a+a+a+a+a+a+quote+inspirational.jpg Cheers Ednurse Re: Ednurse wants home finished STAT..Wanna move STAT.. 30Sep 10, 2010 10:05 am Hi everyone just thought i would update my thread with some pics Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Uploaded with ImageShack.us Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Uploaded with ImageShack.us Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Uploaded with ImageShack.us My new kitchen. Our bricks are PGH crema. Originally we chose Bianca but the builder advised us after the frame was done that they had run out and that we would have a 6week wait for more . After comparing the two, Bianca and Crema are so similar we decided it shouldnt interfere with our colour scheme too much to change to these ones. Hope the classic cream stuff finishes it all off nicely and a black wrought iron type fence out the front should pick all the light stuff up and off set it against the roof....well that was the plan anyway...we will see. Cant wait to be cooking in my new kitchen, first round of scones is on me Enjoy the sunshine it is supposed to be with us all weekend, take care all and catch u soon Ednurse Re: Ednurse wants home finished STAT..Wanna move STAT.. 36Sep 20, 2010 6:12 pm oo ooo ooo I got an update!!!
