Hi all..am loving this forum have posted a couple of times now and everyone is sooo friendly. I thought I would have a go at doing a thread on our build.
I hope I am doing it in an ok spot and havent butted in anywhere
My husband and I are building a home with Sterling in the new Westwood area in the western burbs of Adelaide. It is our first home and let me just say now i know why everyone says building is a stressful process. I work in the emergency department at the RAH...and some days this process has me more stressed than work lol. We have been lucky tho the problems we have had have been easily sorted (touch wood) but we have had delay after delay and no communication (u no they think we mind readers!!).
Our Floor plan
http://img814.imageshack.us/img814/7006/houseplan.jpg - We liked the lakeland originally but decided we wanted more room on our block outside for kids to run a muck in and more space to have BBQ's n things. Our builder showed us this plan once we determined the lakeland was too big for our block and we thought "yep that will work for us"
Not a huge house by any means but bigger than the box we have been renting for the last 15 years. To give you an idea, my childrens bedrooms once we move will be the bigger than the loungeroom where we are at the moment!!

Think our exterior colours will look ok once all our cream guttering etc is all done. It seems to have taken an age to get to this point. We signed our contract back in Sept 09, Land settled in April 2010 and slab poured 3rd March 2010
Today my DH went past the house and found that the insulation and the electical wiring stuff has been done and the giprock is all there stacked up ready to go, so it looks like we may get some walls soon...
Wishing you all luck and smooth sailing with the varying stages of your builds and look forward to following how everyone is going. Is anyone else building in or close to the Western burbs?
Have a great weekend and take care
Cheers Ednurse
