Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Aug 13, 2010 4:56 pm After 10 years we are finally building our dream home on our farming property. We have designed our house with help from a couple of builders and now comes the time to choose colours We would like to use a colourbond roof in either Paperbark or sandbank but are unsure of what colours to use then for our render and gutters, fascia, verandah posts etc. Could anyone give any suggestions. We are trying to keep very earthy neutral tones and would like the render to have a brown colour to it but not too dark. The window frames would possibly be cream or white. Would love to hear if anyone has any ideas on colours that would look great on a farm. If someone could tell me how to attach a photo I will post a picture of the exterior of the house so you can get an idea. Thanks in advance! Re: Exterior Colour Help Please!!!! 2Aug 13, 2010 5:34 pm Don't often hear people using paperbark or sandbank for roof. How to post a photo. viewtopic.php?f=13&t=1272 Re: Exterior Colour Help Please!!!! 3Aug 13, 2010 6:09 pm Is there any reason why people aren't using those colours anymore. We were just advised to stay away from the darker colours like Jasper as your roof cavity gets hotter. We are building in quite a hot dry area and there will be no shade to begin with so went with the lighter options. Thanks heaps for the link to upload a photo, hopefully it works for me!!! http://a.imageshack.us/img69/606/001qio.jpg Thankyou so much 😀 I've decided on White on white for doors and trims, White on white 50% on ceiling and Mt buller for walls. Fingers crossed it will look OK 😀 2 3618 Thank you @. Tried to play with the facade models but the exact colour is not matching up. 2 1033 |
