Great progress today!!! 122Dec 17, 2010 5:45 am Raleighfarm I do like white kitchens but I love the colour of yours, it just grabs me. Thanks RF! Well we got our garage door on the other day! Loving it! Also....best news yet.....SS mentioned in passing that he has tradies working all over the Christmas break, and so they are running well ahead of schedule on our place. Our original goal was to be in the house by early March (I want to be in there for my 30th on 10/03/11). Then we were told it should be mid Feb and we were stocked! Now our SS said he thinks we are looking at end of Jan/early Feb!!! Only thing is our rental agreement is until 10/03/11 so I'm not sure what will happen with that if handover is well before then. At least it will give us a chance to get driveways in and carpets down etc before moving in. Great progress today!!! 127Jan 05, 2011 5:36 am Yes Carlswil, I am hoping not to have to pay rent and the mortgage for too long! A couple of weeks changeover would be good though so we can get the house livable first. We will still need to do carpet, driveway and maybe even a bit of landscaping before moving in (with our two dogs, would be good to be able to have some grass before we move so they just aren't covered in mud constantly!). Well they worked over Christmas! We now have painting nearly finished, bathrooms tiled and all the internal doors on. Hopefully they do the main floor tiles this week. I am a bit disappointed though, we paid extra to upgrade the bathroom tiles to the larger tiles we are using for the rest of the house so that the bathroom tiles would flow through to the hallway, but they have put a piece of silver strip accross the doorway so they will still be separated. Any idea why this would happen? Is it so they can lay out the floor tiles evenly for the rest of the house? Also, I had asked for the strips that allow the carpet layers to lay the carpet up flush with the tiles (instead of those strips that go on top) and I can't see that they have used it in the esuite. Is there anyway to put one there after tiling is done?? Great progress today!!! 128Jan 25, 2011 12:25 pm Well I haven't been on here for a while so thought I would update. We are about 2 - 3 weeks away from handover. We have a meeting scheduled with the SS for Friday to go through some minor things we aren't happy with but overall I am thrilled!! Today the sparky is there putting in all power points, light switches, light fittings etc. And the plumber is doing all the showers, toilets etc. Looking like a real house now!!! Great progress today!!! 134Jan 29, 2011 12:22 pm you are most welcome!! from emma The double vanity and larger shower are the ensuite. The single vanity and bath etc is the main bathroom. Our kitchen is nearly finished, they finished off the splashback yesterday but I didn't get any pics. The pink room is one of my daughter's rooms (they are both the same pink). It is a lot pinker than I thought it would be but with furniture, carpet etc should be ok. I have included a pic of the benchtop in the kitchen from side on. I am concerned that the higher stone piece doesn't have enough support. It just sits on the laminate wall with three little support pieces and there seems to be a bit of movement in it. ???? PCI and Handover 10th Feb! Yippeee!!! 140Feb 05, 2011 1:55 pm Thanks guys. Pebbles, I am really not comfortable with the top part at the moment. It has quite a bit of "flexibiility" in it that I'm pretty sure a stone benchtop shouldn't have. Glenn said he will ask the kitchen people but I can't see them doing anything about it. Apparently that is the way they do them all so that makes it ok. I will constantly be telling people not to lean on it!
