Using Rainwater from our rainwater tank

Are we able to use our water from the rainwater tank at any time? Do water restrictions include rainwater?

I can not find any info online about it, but I am sure you're allowed to use the water whenever you want. We are in thr Gold Coast council.

Aaurora…that’s why we get water tanks, so we can use the water whenever we want!

Water restrictions do NOT include the use of your tank!

Same as if you have Bore Water…you can use that whenever as well!

It’s only the water that you pay for that you are restricted using.

If your mains water is hooked up tom your tank( ie for grey water), restrictions under water stages still apply. If you hove no mains hoocked up to your tank, you can wash your car in the middile fo a 40 degree day in the ddile of Telstra Done, and its perfectly legal.

I am fairly sure that bore water cannot be used at any time in Perth. From memory, it can only be used in the evenings. Make sure you check if in any doubt - just call your local water board.

And maybe put a sign out the front of the house saying 'Rainwater tank in use' just in case you have narky neighbours

Folks, just becasue it is bore water - have you had a thought about how it got there in the first place.?
If it's not raining from above - it isnlt soaking into the ground and filtering through the soil into the aquafier to become bore water........

I don't care if it's greywater, rainwater, borewater or filtered tap water - we can't just willy nilly waste it.

Use it as required - but don't waste it.

we have had water restrictions placed on bore water in WA you can now only use between 6pm and 9am and depending on where you are some can only use bore water on their rostered sprinkler days.

But why do people water in the middle of the day, especially in summer :evil:

, it just evapourates anyway
