Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Nov 04, 2007 2:27 pm We are in the process of selecting final external colours for the house and have looked at a number of colour combinations - but there are just too many lovely colours to chose from!
So far top of the list is Colorbond Shale Grey roof and windows. Should we select a contrasting colour for the gutters and garage or stay with Shale Grey?. We like Dulux Russian Toffee for the house, but would like a contrasting colour for the balcony and porch and wonder if Dulux Porceleine Figurine is a good choice? I’ve had a look at your colour choices. Can I suggest CB “Jasper” for the roof, windows and garage doors? With Dulux “ Blind Date” as the main colour and Dulux “ Toffee Fingers” for the Balcony and porch. I’m really sorry, but I put your first three colour selections together….and to me they don’t go. The “Russian Toffee” is way off the mark, and the CB “Shale Grey” is just not doing it. I’m happy to send you my colour combo so you can see the difference; you will see what I mean! Just trying to help you, please don’t be offended! ![]() It’s an expensive purchase your about to make, I would like to see you get it right. ![]() Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: External colours - advice needed 3Nov 04, 2007 3:41 pm Michelle
You are a marvel. Of course I am not offended. I was hoping you would reply and help me out ![]() Cheers and thanks a million. I'll check out the colours and see how they go. Jasper is a lovely colour. I was also thinking Dune but that would throw everything out the window. I've updated our blog and included our other colour selections. Let me know what you think. It is really hard putting this all together .. makes me realize what a difficult job it is to design and coordinate colour. The choice is overwhelming. I'd love the see the colour combo. Would Polytech be correct? We don't have the kitchen selection sheet but that is what it says on the sample card. Kitchen supplier is Carerra Kitchens in Prospect SA. Re: External colours - advice needed 9Nov 04, 2007 6:48 pm Polytech’s correct…….I don’t have those samples.
I was going to check your laminate colours, but I can’t do it now! Sorry. ![]() Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: External colours - advice needed 10Nov 04, 2007 6:52 pm no prob's.

They look fine! I just had another look! ![]() Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: External colours - advice needed 12Nov 04, 2007 7:53 pm I just had a look at Dulux Blind Date and it is very nice. I also like it with Mocha Magic but will get a swatch of Toffee Fingers to check this as well. I have seen some houses with CB Jasper on the roof and garage door and it looks excellent. Not sure about Jasper windows though. Do you think it would be ok to have different colour windows i.e. silver or white?
I also wonder about the front door ... should we go for a contrast such as red or ... dare I say lime green or stay safe with a mocha colour. ![]() You really do us all a great service Michelle. ![]() Re: External colours - advice needed 13Nov 04, 2007 8:02 pm Don't know if it will go with your colours, but we have jasper for the gutters and garage door, with paperbark as the fascia and windows. Bricks aren't done yet but they look like a good match so far...
Ray. Second Time 'Round Re: External colours - advice needed 14Nov 04, 2007 8:05 pm thanks Ray. I'll check CB paperbark out as well. Sounds like a good alternative.
