Re: M&J's Build- Heaps of internal pics pg 16 329Apr 26, 2011 9:27 am Thanks so much for the lovely comments Hey there Kiwi how sweet you noticed my absence. We haven't sorted out our computers yet, no phoneline (grrrrr) and it is a bit tedious typing on my phone. We're really enjoying our new home. There's so much that we still need to finish but we know we'll get that sorted in time. We moved our big stuff on wednesday 13th so we were able to spend our first night here wednesday 13th. I finished cleaning up the last few bits and pieces at the old house on the Thursday and took the day off on Friday as I was exhausted (and besides....it was my birthday. I got a new house for my birthday lol). We spent the first few days unpacking the essentials and sorting out jobs like installing clotheslines etc. We've just spent the last four days camping with extended family over the Easter break so I'll tackle some more unpacking today. (we have way too much stuff. I am baffled at how much stuff we managed to squeeze into our old house). It was so weird handing over our old house to it's new owners (we sold it ourselves so handed over ourselves). We have so many happy memories of living in our old house.....Time to make new ones in our lovely new house Still no splashback so no oven. Dishwasher isn't installed because hardly normal messed up our order. Blinds should be here next week. We'll have to tackle the lawn fairly soon as the dirt blowing around everywhere is the one thing I'm really not enjoying....... But despite all this I'm really lovin' our new home Re: M&J's Build- Heaps of internal pics pg 16 330Apr 26, 2011 11:10 am Happy belated birthday! The floors look fantastic and you have pulled everything together so well. LOVE IT! Congrats Re: M&J's Build- Heaps of internal pics pg 16 339May 25, 2011 12:50 pm Hellooooo! Did you miss me? Can you believe it???....We STILL don't have a phone line (and no internet) I have internet on my phone but I find it very tedious to use (and can't work out how to connect it my computer) Anyhow...I'm hoping that it will be resolved soon because it is driving me bonkers! It makes me laugh as our business is in "Communications"....however there ain't a lot of communication happening in our house! It is crazy! What is silly is that my mobile doesn't work in some parts of the house (I'm not sure whether the anticon is blocking the signal or something) so I often have to go outside to use my phone! lol! Anyway- Using someone else's computer to check in and say "hi" We still loving living in our house! I thought it would feel odd living here but honestly it just felt like 'home' straight away! We haven't done a lot of work on it lately- We've just been enjoying "living life". We resolved that we would just get to the remaining jobs at a relaxed-no stress pace! We picked out a few plants for the gardens but they are still sitting in their pots as we've got some preparation to do first! We still need a front fence and some external painting still hasn't been done but I'm trying to not let the unfinished jobs bother me! It is so nice to not worry about deadlines...We'll just get to it when we can! The builders wanted to submit our home for the "Master builders awards" but we said no as I'm a bit fussy and don't like the idea of people coming through for judging when things aren't quite finished yet! Part of me was hoping that they would consider offering some of their guys to help out with some unfinished tasks at an 'affordable' price but no such offer was made. Given that we gain nothing from them submitting our home for their awards we thought they might be willing to 'help us out a bit with getting things finished off' at a reasonable price but they didn't. We couldn't see the point in putting ourselves under unnecessary stress.....anyway that's life I guess! I DO have photos to share and I promise I will get them up as soon as the internet issues are sorted!
