Last week we had a few delays that included a touch of rain and a hold up with the delivery. They made a tentative start yesterday and have been working on the roof for most of today. My husband took one look at what they did yesterday and noted that the anticon wasn't right up to the fascia. Now I don't know anything about it but apparently is is supposed to be right up to the fascia. I hope they've done the rest properly or I suspect I will have one very husband at the end of the day! Re: M&J's Building thread- Roof framework LOTS of pics on pa 84Oct 05, 2010 4:28 pm good job he knows what should be done. man, how come they dont know their job. tell that hubby to kick some butt. H1 is behind him. Re: M&J's Building thread-We're at lock up! Colourbond momen 86Oct 08, 2010 8:25 pm We're really thrilled to have reached lock up stage. Electrical work and airconditioning etc is all progressing well....in fact here is one of the airconditioning units. (Geez the things you take pictures of when you're building )

I know in some places it is to fit the house on the block...not sure if that is always the case...sometimes maybe about passive solar heating???? There are no eaves across the front BUT along the sides and back there are eaves. IT is just the front with no eaves. For us it was just a personal preference. One of the main factors was achieving a more contemporary look at the front. We wanted to have a portico- otherwise the front of the house may have looked quite unusual. The entry is quite 'deep' and the front doors are set back a distance. We thought it would have looked weird to have a portico like that and then eaves across the front. Also- due to the postition of the house- the front rooms (where there are no eaves) are well shaded in the heat of the day. RF said Quote: I have this thought often. For us it did actually play a role in our decision-making Our garage has no eaves because it forms the boundary between us and the neighbours....Having the garage on the boundary allowed us to fit our house on the block. As the garage has no eaves we carried the 'no eaves' look across the front. Re: M&J's Building thread-We're at lock up! Colourbond momen 97Oct 09, 2010 6:58 pm On your house Miss, I really like it. Colourbond momen 99Oct 09, 2010 8:06 pm Miss, with regards to your theatre room, the house I grew up in, in Wahroonga, Sydney had a 'TV room' which originally was the 'maids bedroom'... the TV room was one of the smallest rooms in the house and was tucked away from everything else... and guess where everyone would be huddled every night? You guessed it... 'The TV room'. Don't be surprised if the kids crash your sanctuary! Building a custom Knock Down Rebuild with Rawson Homes - Seaforth, Sydney.
