The ss calls us weekly/fortnightly with an update and is easy to talk to and approach. we employed an independant building inspector and he is impressed with the quality of work as well. we are up to the gyprock stage and fingers crossed we will be in by christmas. good luck with your build and i hope things go as smoothly for you as it has for us.. KT Re: Anyone building with AV Jennings around Maitland NSW? 5Sep 27, 2010 9:16 am Thats great to hear ktspruce! I am shocked at how long everything is taking, we went to them late June to get a tender started and are still not in council did colour selections last weekend so just waiting for the variations to come back. Where abouts are you building? Oh and what design? Re: Anyone building with AV Jennings around Maitland NSW? 6Sep 27, 2010 10:15 am Hi Selena, we are building the Modena 5 (blueprint). we have modified it a little bit to suit our lifestyle. we turned the formal dining room into a store room for our camping stuff with access to the garage. We also extended the dining room off the kitchen and made bedroom 4 larger. we are building in the seaside estate near stocko. it was very frustrating when the plans were in council. once they started the building, things were happening every week and we could see progress. our plans were out of council at the end of July and we are up to gyprock stage now.(2 months) I found the colour selection very easy and the colour consultant very helpful. I had already picked a lot of stuff before our appointment so I was pretty right. the only thing that she helped me with was the difference between warm colours and cool colours. we looked at your design and loved it!! keep us updated on your progress... good luck with everything. Yep the waiting will kill you, paperwork is def the worse stage of the build. Good luck the wait is def worth it though.... Built our Granton in 2010 Handover December 3rd- wooohooo! Love ur plan... You will be amazed to see how long it takes to do the 3 months maintenance... We moved in our house in Oct2008 and still running after them for the maintenance......Its SHOCKING and i am sick of it altogether... although we did not have many problems throughout the build but SS was very incompetent and arrogant. there was a thread going on this forum about AV J. will try to find it later.
