Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Our Huntley 310 ~ Less than 4 weeks to go!! *PIC UPDATE* 41May 28, 2011 5:51 pm We had a call last week from the flooring place saying that there was a delay with the carpet we had selected. They wanted us to come in and look at one that they had reduced, but it was more of a grey colour rather than a charcoal. I found one that I really liked, and for an extra $2500 we could have that one!!! Ummmm, I don't think so. I was lucky to find another one that was a similar colour to our original one and we only had to pay $560 to upgrade. Still extra money, but not as bad as the previous one. It's nice and plush too, soft to touch. The flooring is getting done sometime this coming week so that will be very exciting. It will look even more ready to live in. Pattycake - I'll take lots of photos for you. I'm assuming you are talking about the vinyl planks and not the carpet? How come you have to wait for so long? Fixing up a few things and the tradies are all tied up on jobs to be finished by the end of May, plasterers, then painters, then PCI. SS told me we'd be in by the end of next month. I'm looking on the bright side, at least our shutters and blinds will all go in at the same time, we won't need to wait for our shutters It's going to be like Christmas! Only 10 more sleeps till we move!! How excitement... We have an unofficial PCI on Tuesday at 4pm which we had to request. Looks like our builder is a bit different to others. We have never met or spoken to our SS and had no PCI planned, just handover. I guess they are all different. We now have carpet done and the block has been cleaned. The Certificate of Occupancy will be ready on the 14th. Time to pack our stuff to get out of this crappy rental and stop paying mortgage AND rent! Will let you know how we go on Tuesday. Should be very interesting since we will have to have a serious discussion about our retaining wall and fence. I'll add the link to my other thread once I type it out. Enjoy!
